Ok all of you out in Broadway land, it seems like a couple of Broadway houses aren't booking Spring shows, so let me throw out a bunch of titles and does anybody know or have an opinion of where they would go or even if they are coming in?!
-Miss Firecracker Contest revival
-The Velocity of Autumn
-Gentleman's Guide to Love and Manner- such wonderful reviews, I hope this is coming from Connecticut.
-The Glass Menagerie- this HAS to be coming in before this Spring's Tony deadline!
-The Body Guard
-Prince on Broadway- don't you guys think this will replace the awful "Nice Work if You Can Get It" at The Imperial?
-Flash Dance- this poor thing has been limping around for so long if memory serves me right it's in Toronto this Spring/early Summer and claims to be opening on Broadway in August.
-Rebecca- if I were still back East, sign me up for tickets for this one immediately since I am stuck up here at the US/ Canadian border, I will have to wait for my friends to tell me all about the burning house and I'll need to wait for the CD! Speaking of CD's, did I hear correctly that Kathy Lee is releasing a CD this Spring of her "Scandalous"? If this is true, I'm going to go ahead and order it from Amazon, but I need anybody out there who saw this show(?) to explain all the falling frogs!
-Revivals of No Man's Land Waiting for Godot
-Cotton Club Parade- I heard such good things about this. Wasn't it at some sort of a Lincoln center theater fringe festival or somewhere else? Do we know who this would be a vehicle for? Would this be something that somebody like Savion Glover would be into, or is it more singing than choreography?
-Diner the Musical
-Big Fish- We know this is loading into the Neal Simon.
With such a long list of shows, who is going to be "kicked out" of their venues- Mama Mia at the Winter Garden, Chicago at the Ambassador, or are the Weisler's going to keep this cash cow FOREVER?

I just read that the Miss Firecracker and Velocity of Autumn show are both postponed till at least next season.

Posted: 2/24/13 at 4:02pmCotton Club Parade was at City Center on two separate occasions. I think it's the best revue I've seen, but I don't understand why it's transferring. I think that Gentlemen Prefer Blondes would be far more likely to make some money.

Posted: 2/24/13 at 5:17pmI sure hope "Rebecca" is going to make it to Broadway at last. The original plan was, I think, to open in spring 2012, then fall 2012. I actually had tickets for Thanksgiving weekend 2012, but the show didn't open because of the financial problems. Does anyone know if they've finally gotten the financing? Any idea who will actually be in the cast? Any idea who is going to jail for fraud?

Concerning "Rebecca"- wasn't Howard McGillin and Sienna Miller cast as of Fall 2012? I love both these actors and don't know where they currently are or what they're doing. As far as the financing, if I had a million in my pocket I'd place it in their fund as there's enough Broadway "flop o files" to fill many seats for at least a short run.
Didn't Megan Hilty star in the City Center Gentleman? She is originally from Bothel, WA which is about 60 miles south of Bellingham, WA where I am.

I stand corrected concerning the title of the Gentleman's Guide, I thought it was Manner, but it is Murder. I know that Big Fish is booked into the Neal Simon and poor Prince on Broadway sounds like it isn't going to happen. To the previous illustrious shows that I threw out for your consideration, I'll add Viva Forever and maybe even the Weinstein production of Finding Neverland.

Tuck Everlasting has been postponed -- which often mean cancelled.
We like dealing in the present, I suppose. We'll finish complaining about the Tony Noms just in time to complain about the Tony Awards --- THEN we'll complain about the fall!

"Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" is definitely opening in the Fall at a theatre to be announced very soon. The book author Robert Freedman was in NYC working on the final negotiations during the last week of the OG run which closed on April 14th.
Regarding GGTLAM I saw it twice at the OG and absolutely loved it. The Edwardian theatre music hall they built for the set is reason enough for it to move to Broadway. If marketed right this will be a strong contender for a Best New Musical Tony nomination.

Posted: 4/16/13 at 11:39pmJust hope a new musical like that can last through the winter doldrums. It would look beautiful at the Kerr.

Posted: 4/17/13 at 12:12amI believe Always..Patsy wants the Circle, and will most likely be moving in there in July/August

Posted: 4/17/13 at 10:11amRiedel said that No Man's Land/Waiting for Godot would most likely go into the St James. Seems like an awfully big house for a classic play, even with those 2 stars

Posted: 4/17/13 at 10:23amI would love for Hilty to do "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". If only, if only...

I'm pretty sure LES MIS will go into the Imperial when Broderick leaves.
FIRECRACKER, DINER, TUCK and PRINCE are all dead. BODYGUARD won't transfer until it's done in the West End because Heather will have to come with it.

WTF? Actually, many of these have been discussed. And sometimes, at length. Are you just upset they weren't discussed on your thread? It sounds like you're scolding people for not discussing what you want. Why not continue the discussion without the condescending tone?
