no NTG i haven't - but it's on my "must have" list..
so guys -
recommend some current music for grandma while she takes a potty break...
back in 15...
Definitely a "must have/see." To the point where I was thinking "if both this and Rent get Oscar noms I'm gonna have no clue who to root for..."

I love love love love Fiona Apple. She has a new CD out called Extraordinary Machine.
Grandma my ass missy.. Although I'm certain you and I are the oldest ones here at the moment..
Fredi I like the Killers "hot fuss"

i. heart. greenday.
and dispatch, fall out boy, foo fighters, my chemical romance, jimmy eat world, etc...
but i don't think this would suit your music tastes, fredi...
Get some Ben Folds, Rufus Wainwright, and the Beatles. Actually, William Shatner has a really good album out too now.
NTG I like all of those as well..

I'm listening to the I'll Cover You - Reprise ....and seriously folks, this is the most beautiful song...ever? I have so many favorites but I keep coming back to this one....wow, just wow!
Guys and Dolls is the only thing on my mind at the moment.
I'm definitely watching The Mummy right now, because it's the best "uptight girl gets drunk" scene ever, and I'm guessing we're gonna be reading Havanna stuff tomorrow.
I'm listening to Spamalot at the moment, and it's great.
Ben Fold's "Rockin' the Suburbs" is BRILLIANT and this is coming from the girl who lives in the bubble of showtunes. He's an amazing songwriter, plays almost all the instruments on the album (his piano chops are killer) and it's just really great rock/pop music.

Um. Billy Joel? Anyone going to his concert? I tried to get tickets but alas, it sold out in 15 mins.

I dunno if this is the best place to ask about current music. I think it's safe to say that most people on here listen mainly to showtunes- myself included.

Damn right, Ben Folds kicks ass. I saw him in concert in '04 with Rufus Wainwright. Ben is awesome, one of the greatest piano players, he's like a demon.

Oh, Fredi - I highly suggest the new David Gray album, "Life in Slow Motion" - he is the goods.
Also, have you ever listened to the Dave Matthews Band? (what the dmb part of my username is of) --- they're not for everyone, but some of their stuff is just magnificent, especially live. You might like to check out one or two of their older albums.
Also, any Bjork album may be fun to check out. She's a bit of a nut, but she has a pretty heavenly voice.
Music recommendations:
Fiona Apple
Damien Rice
Coldplay
Nelly Furtado
And, of course, the "Rent" OBC album. :)
Surprisingly I listen to quite the variety of music..
Gavin Degraw is great.. I'm always a Goo Goo Dolls fan.
