Posted: 11/30/05 at 10:46pmDefinitely a "must have/see." To the point where I was thinking "if both this and Rent get Oscar noms I'm gonna have no clue who to root for..."

Fredi I like the Killers "hot fuss"
"Someday I'm going to have a baby and I'm gonna name her L'il Mimi Marquez and I and will sing to her every day and when she's a toddler I will say "L'il Mimi Marquez, clad only in a bubble diaper, will perform her famous play pen handcuff dance to the sounds of breast milk being pumped!" ~Kringas

Guys and Dolls is the only thing on my mind at the moment.
I'm definitely watching The Mummy right now, because it's the best "uptight girl gets drunk" scene ever, and I'm guessing we're gonna be reading Havanna stuff tomorrow.

Ben Fold's "Rockin' the Suburbs" is BRILLIANT and this is coming from the girl who lives in the bubble of showtunes. He's an amazing songwriter, plays almost all the instruments on the album (his piano chops are killer) and it's just really great rock/pop music.

Posted: 11/30/05 at 10:50pmI dunno if this is the best place to ask about current music. I think it's safe to say that most people on here listen mainly to showtunes- myself included.

Damn right, Ben Folds kicks ass. I saw him in concert in '04 with Rufus Wainwright. Ben is awesome, one of the greatest piano players, he's like a demon.

Oh, Fredi - I highly suggest the new David Gray album, "Life in Slow Motion" - he is the goods.
Also, have you ever listened to the Dave Matthews Band? (what the dmb part of my username is of) --- they're not for everyone, but some of their stuff is just magnificent, especially live. You might like to check out one or two of their older albums.
Also, any Bjork album may be fun to check out. She's a bit of a nut, but she has a pretty heavenly voice.

Surprisingly I listen to quite the variety of music..
Gavin Degraw is great.. I'm always a Goo Goo Dolls fan.
