It was excellent! The music, especially the orchestration, sounded very Wicked-esque - and then I realized in the credits that Stephen Oremus helped with the orchestrations. Go figure.
Also, did anyone notice the shoutouts to Patti Murin, Jessie Mueller, and Keala Settle in the credits? Patti Murin makes sense, considering she plays Anna on Broadway and helped with a bonus track for the soundtrack to the movie, but Jessie and Keala came out of left field, so I got very excited when I saw their names.

I see a lot of praise for the new score. Wonder if they'll integrate any of it into Frozen on Broadway considering that score got pretty panned.

I absolutely loved it!! I think some of the songs are even better than the ones in the first movie. Just a perfect sequel (and, I've found out, the first Disney princess movie sequel to get a theatrical release!)

I wasn't crazy about the ending but I loved the movie and the new soundtrack. My favorite song is Jonathan Groff's Lost in the Woods. I'll definitely see the movie again in theaters. I hate that the Disney theme parks basically spoiled the ending by having the sisters meet in their costumes from the end of the movie instead of having them in the traveling outfits.
Re: the Broadway show I noticed that touring Anna has her hair down instead of in braids during curtain call. I don't know if she has her hair down the entire show but I figured it was on account of the new movie.

I thought that it blew the first Frozen out of the water. Excellent in all respects. Show Yourself, in my opinion, is the best song from either movie.

I don't go into things wanting to hate them. But I near hated it. The first one has plot issues enough but one can enjoy the movie regardless. This one has even more plot issues and almost all of it contradicts the first. That's just the beginning of what I think, but that's a novel to write and I don't have the energy. Lastly though, Elsa is no longer a relatable character. She's now become a godlike figure and most of those kinds of characters have next to nothing to relate to. This movie ended ended almost the opposite of Hercules when you think about it...which make the entire point of the Frozen franchise and it's lesson very moot.

I loved this more than the first. It has appeal to more ages. I loved the parents left those girls for a good reason. I loved that the adult Anna took responsibility for something wrong her family did and Elsa went back to figure things out. I enjoyed much of the humor. The music overall was lovely. In additional, young Anna & Elsa, Sven, and the new salamander were so funny. But mostly those sisters are just dedicated to each other still.

I thought it was pretty fabulous. I mean who thought that we would get a Disney princess movie that is about the dangers of colonialism, dealing with consequences of the patriarchy, and how we have to move into the future with our collective knowledge of the past while still dealing with who we are in present. Pretty brilliant stuff for a kids movie, and you could tell the adults in the room really appreciated Olaf’s “Everything will make sense when I’m older” song.

In the minority but I was not blown away and I most certainly don't think it's better then the original. Good, yeah. But it's a logical MESS of plot holes. Like WAY worse than the first one that leaves more questions of "why?" then answers.
There is a video on YT someone made that points out how ridiculous some of the choices made really were. Look it up it's like "Frozen 2 Pitch Meeting" or something like that. If felt like everything just came to easy for them. The answers, the things in their way, the resolution. But my main issue was the ending. Okay like NOT the ending.... but like I think that everyone ended up exactly where they should be in the end (SEE? NO SPOILERS) but the pay off did not seemed.... earned? They needed more set up earlier in the film to set up (hmm how to not spoiler this...) each of the sisters devotion to their kingdom. Elsa kinda mentions that she is distracted and fears it's gonna make her mess up but it's a bad case of we were told this and not shown it. Let's see Elsa struggling to focus on diplomatic matters. Let's see her forgetting an official's name or something like that. And then the second kind of unforgivable sin was introducing all these kinda interesting side characters that had about as many lines as you can count on one hand. ALSO.... damn I opened a can of worms here... like where were the relatives of Iduna in the Enchanted Woods? Like they say "Oh this is one of our most ancient and well known families" but NO ONE steps forward to hug it out with their kin and talk about their long lost relative?
I know it seems like I'm nit picking and I kind of am. I still through it was a good movie but I had WAY more issues with the logic of this film then I did with the first one. Yes, I know it's a kids/family film, but I'm a MASSIVE Disney fan and this just didn't fulfill me.

I thought it was terrific. I was surprised by the plot, actually. I thought they could have really done something rote or dumbed-down as many sequels do, but what they came up with was quite ambitious and forward-thinking. Furthermore, the animation was absolutely gorgeous. Even if you didn't like the plot, I can't see how anyone could nitpick about how the film looks - it was beautiful. And overall, I thought the songs were at least up to the same level (and in some respects stronger) than the first film. "Into the Unknown" and "Show Yourself" are really great, and "Lost in the Woods" was catchy (and hysterical...)

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I'm also on the team who found Frozen II a really neat, if a bit surprising, improvement over the first film in terms of it's story, characters, animation, art direction, score and most especially it's songs which I really adored. Definitely seeing it again this upcoming weekend.
A big improvement on an already solid Disney movie.

I was also surprised when I heard the screams of Patti Murin, Jessie Mueller, and Keala Settle. That was incredible. I am still under emotions.

I absolutely loved it and have watched it 4 or 5 times so far, with plans to watch it multiple more times while stuck at home... My best friend and I both liked it better than the first one despite being skeptical at first...

More interesting plot than the first, but the songs were comparably kinda forgettable. Definitely not a bad thing, though. I had a great time with it!

I didn't care for either movie -- I thought this one was more entertaining but somehow worse as a movie and a musical movie... The lyrics were so corny. I'm really glad Groff got a full solo but that song felt very cringey to me. I really am not a fan of the Lopezes' work. I do want to say the animation was incredible. So stunning. Every scene I was like, god, that's beautiful. The animation really did take my breath away from the character design, to scenery, etc. Loved Olaf's part as usually (honestly I will watch ANYTHING for Olaf).
I sat through the entire credits to hear all the "pop" versions of the songs. I got a huge kick when I recognized Weezer.
But seriously... bring back, Hans

The Lopez's have a niche...and it isn't the Disney style of wholesome earnestness and honesty. Theirs' is pastiche comedy. Nothing wrong with that. B of M and Avenue Q are brilliant for that reason. But how they write is too "outward imagination" and not enough "inward heart", nor is their Frozen material cohesive enough to serve the whole in terms of story line/structure or a cohesive musical sound palette. It's just...derivative songs put in derivative spots. No careful thought of the through line.
