I take it from Instagram and social media that someone named Ephie Ardema went on yesterday and now today as Fanny. Anyone see her?

It looks like it was her put in today (so her first chance to run through the show as Fanny; she usually plays Emma), not that she actually went on.
I'm not sure she went on yesterday but according to her IG, she had her put in today. I actually really enjoyed Ephie as Emma.

Isn't Julie Benko out with Covid? They could just be getting her ready if Beanie misses a show.

IF?

First, only Julie Benko is Beanie’s standby - she doesn’t have another role in the show. She only plays Fanny Brice when Beanie is out. Ephie is the understudy as she already is in the musical and plays Emma and Mrs. Nadler. She ONLY goes on as Fanny in the event that Julie can not. Julie is still in quarantine so until she becomes available, Ephie will play Fanny when Beanie is out.
I had a feeling she would be going on in Julie's absence. Break a leg, darling!

Isnt this exactly what I was saying? That since the standby is out with Covid, they need to get the other covers for the role ready to go on if Beanie misses a show... and I still havent seen any confirmation that she is out?

Wouldn't or shouldn't the producers have done a "put in" for the Fanny understudy as soon as Ms. Benko announced she had Covid? Which was 5-6 days ago at least?
Was curious about that. If Beanie had to miss a show during that time, what would they have done? Luckily it didn't turn out that way.
But I guess understudys do go on without a proper "put in" --- maybe this happens a lot?

Probably just logistics. If Julie gave notification on Friday, they wouldn’t do a put in on Saturday (a two show day) or Sunday (a matinee day). Monday is their day off, so their options this week were Tuesday or today.
"
Hoping Ephie gets to go on this week.
She had a put in; she didn’t go on.

A rehearsal. Ephie is a fantastic performer and just a wonderful human. I had the pleasure of working with her on the national tour of Waitress. I hope she gets to go on and I wish her the best!

I described it in Comment 2, but here's a nice thorough description from an earlier thread:
https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.php?thread=28848
"when a replacement comes in, they learn the show from the Dance Captain and Stage Manager and watch performances. After they have learned the show completely, they hold several rehearsals that are just runthroughs where the replacement is in full costume but the rest of the cast is only in rehearsal clothes. It is not uncommon for an incoming lead to only have had one or two runthroughs with the full company (which means they have only worked with their co-stars those few times). In some cases, they might never have a full run through/put in before they take over -- that was the case with the current Belle and Beast on the Beauty and the Beast tour."
Obviously this is a case where it's someone who's already in the show but playing a different role, not an outside replacement, but the concept is the same. It's a full runthrough in this role with the rest of the cast.
A put-in is a rehearsal for an understudy or replacement to run the full show with all tech elements. It’s typically the culmination of rehearsals for the understudy/replacement and the final step before they are put into the show. Only the cast members being “put in” are in full costume; everyone else is typically in street clothes and/or rehearsal pieces. There’s not always full orchestra at a put-in.
FYI, Funny Girl is on TDF for the first time. Every performance next week but the Saturday matinee.
I bet Beanie calls out again soon....could Ephie go on this weekend as Julie is still in quarantine.
At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Beanie calls out just so Ephie can go on.
