I just came back from the show, and enjoyed it very much. I am mixed about the show, but the score was terrific! Great cast.
Glad to see Broadway star Melissa Errico and Stephen Schwartz in the audience.

(I spy a certain NY Times reviewer enjoying @BwayGodspell ...)
Is it possible that reviewers might actually like this show? I guess we'll see.

finally saw the show tonight.
let me just ask, what show have a majority of you been watching?
this was by far not the worst show I have ever seen, it was fantastic the cast was magical and the show was so much fun.
The audience absolutely loved it and the cast got a huge standing ovation from the whole audience.
It was a goofy good time, and thats the point. If you want a serious jesus musical go see JCS
The only issue I will say I had was the band really needs to take it down about 2 notches, especially during prepare ye and beautiful city.
I saw it the other night and loved it. I was unsure what to expect, but I thought the orchestrations were awesome, great cast & moving'
It deserves to been seen

hey @kyle4 http://tinyurl.com/62ns4vy
That's sweet, Kyle. Now is this hug free and will you shower after going to gym but before the hug? Is this redeemable after opening night of Godspell? Or do I have to wait until we become viral? Will the cost of the hug go up or down in value if they use any pull quotes from either you or Brantley? Will I have to sign a waiver or parental consent to receive this hug? How about a lawyer? Any royalties after we reach beyond 15 minutes of fame? Phew, it's hard being internationally famous!

Question for anyone who has done the lottery this weekend so far...
I've been hearing a lot about standing room tickets being sold only these past two days and I've done the lottery a few times now and haven't heard anything about the standing room tickets being sold. Is this new? A new lotto-loser alternative? Anyone know anything about it?

there only available when the shows sold out

their wrong.... the only reason i got one on thursday was because it was sold out.....
I was at the show last night and noticed some empty seats. It didn't seem like it was sold out, but there were standing room tickets available. People were standing on both sides of the theatre.
BTW....I loved the show. I don't know if reviews were iffy in the beginning due to the newness of the production, but the cast seemed tight last night. It was funny, emotional, and well-sung. I'm pleased. The updated stuff added didn't bother me one bit. It stays true to the Godspell name.

Maybe you'll get it on the third try.
Between kyle & thisismyshow, the English language is taking quite a beating in this thread.
So does anyone have information about SRO? Is it for lotto losers? Get there when the box office opens?

I think that they lotto-off the fill-in seats like they have been doing (for $65 or $75, depending on the night) and then anyone interested in SRO are lined up behind the lotto winners and losers. Also, I heard of people moving to seats during intermission from standing room and the show NOT being sold out... so I don't think the show has to be sold out for these to be sold. It's really unclear because I think the SRO tickets are new (this week?) and I've been hearing different things, but they are a less-expensive way to see this great show. Definitely worth it!

So, you guys know how there the Times always has what are basically puff pieces for the new Broadway show season in the Sunday Arts section?
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/06/theater/broadway-revival-of-godspell.html?ref=theater
I figured this would just be another one of those puff pieces, but it turns out to be an (inadvertent?) bad review in advance.
Love it!

So basically this is the revival (in two senses of the word) the Fundies didn't know they were waiting for??

@coloroflames.... um that doesn't read bad......its more like a retrospective of the history of the show.
If Brantley likes this and not Queen of the Mist I'll have to punch someone.

i went thursday when there was a press night and I saw Isherwood there so unless he was just watching im assuming he is the reviewer...
The tweet from Morgan James I posted earlier was from Thursday. So this might be Isherwood's.
I expect they'd get lots of good pull quotes from him.
