I've loved George Clooney since ER. And his ER costars reunited at the opening night party."
I've loved George Clooney since The Facts Of Life. That show was more entertaining than this play.

Just read this. When Shaw's Othello review was posted and mentioned ticket prices, some posters were outraged and considered it racist, demanding to know if critics would say the same thing about Glengarry and Good Night. So worth noting that she does comment on it:
"It’s been a season when the relative inaccessibility of tickets has been very much on my mind. The cost of a pair to “Good Night, and Good Luck” most likely means that the majority of folks watching it are executives, media types, or well-heeled business owners, some of whom might be thinking about if and when courage will be required. These, probably, are the very folks Clooney is trying to reach."
A friend showed me tix were avail for the matinee today for $44 on the Theatr app and then I just got an email from Telecharge that cancelation tickets are available for the matinee in one hour, with a link to buy. Is Clooney out or something??

I just looked at Telecharge and the matinee today isn't even showing on the schedule as I was going to snag a ticket.
Their matinees are at 1pm, so it would be off-sale now.

I got the email about cancellation tickets for the 1 PM show...at 1:46 PM. Helpful!

Would love to hear thoughts from folks who have seen this. Have two tix: Right Mezzanine, Row B, Seats 20-22. Hearing conflicting info on whether it’s better to be on the left or right side.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Caught this last night. The message outshines the acting, if that makes sense. It’s not winning any awards but it’s a story we need today more than any other.
I saw orch center (and behind a woman who had hair like Marge Simpson so missed a lot) but I think house right would be better than house left. Clooney’s desk is stage right and he is facing stage left perpendicular to the stage’s edge.

Sometimes I don’t understand why ppl go to live theatre with their hair up like that. I had similar experience before.
I always take off my cap hat when the show starts cos I don’t wanna block anyone’s view.

I was at today's matinee, $99 rear mezz seat (the Winter Garden mezz is enormous).
I won't say this is a great play, but as a former journalist I loved seeing a show celebrate a profession I hold dear that's been under attack lately.
When the show started I was like "Is it just gonna be the movie on stage?" But they've found cool ways to open it up, and by the time the Murrow v McCarthy stuff came around I was all in.
Clooney gives Murrow's big speeches the gravitas they deserve and finds some unexpected humor- his look at the end of the Liberace interview could've turned Lee to stone.
It's mostly the George show, but Ilana Glazer and Glenn Fleshler also get chances to shine.
Re the ending montage, I'd heard Elon's salute was the final image, but the fact that the lead-in is the presidential oath of office makes it hit extra hard

‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ Remembers When TV Had a Conscience, and a Spine

I saw this on Wednesday and really enjoyed it - but I can't stop thinking about how damn good that jazz singer Georgia Heers was. I know there's no chance, but sure wish they'd record an EP. I would listen to that "How High the Moon" on repeat.
