Orfeh didn't perform on opening night and thus would not be eligible for the Tony.

I would love for Stephanie Block to play this role on Broadway, but seeing as though she's in Falsettos, that won't happen for now.  I'll throw Andrea McArdle's name out there. Not sure if she was even seen as a replacement in the original production.

I know she's not really that well known, but I would love to see Michelle Knight, she has an amazing voice.

I know committed to Anastasia but Caroline O'Connor would act and sing the tits off this tired old standard and bring an amazing look and sound to this only 'real' song in Cats....Memory IS Cats after all.

Maybe it will be released the next time an ALW compilation is issued. There have been a number of them over the years.

Just put it out there, Grizabella isn't an age Pacific role, except Grizabella is an old alley cat, going to the heaven side layer, pretty much the story of Cats. So couldn't Betty Buckley reprise her role as Glenn Close has just done?

I would love some Betty - can you imagine! - but I don't they have it in their budget to afford a Betty Buckley!

I was just thinking, what about a Caissie Levy? That's probably more in line with the type they'd cast.

What do you think of Donna Murphy as a replacement? I know she's said no more Broadway for a while, but she could probably really nail this... imlove the suggestion of Marin as well, but I think Donna's voice is more suited to "Memory"...

Donna Murphy singing "Memory?" I love her, but no thanks. Her voice is no where near the belty the voice they need. And Audra's voice is all wrong for it too.

If they keep up the B-List pop star trend, Fergie might not be terrible. She's the same age/type as Nicole and Leona and she was great in Nine.
