I see it now: the role of Seaweed will be announced during the opening credits.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Wow! Jerry Mitchell has really bumped his choreography up 200 notches. His referencing those handful of early 60s dances (The Pony, The Mashed Potatoe, etc) in those few seconds is deliciously masterful. Can't wait for what he does to "The Nicest Kids in Town."
Ariana Grande was on the Tonight show and mentioned this. She didn't say much, but she sounded so excited and she name dropped Kerry Butler. It was really sweet.
Well, that's an audition combo.. I don't think anyone doubts that the choreography is turned way up for television... The scale is conpletely different than live theatre. An audition combo is designed to cover necessary bases to see what you offer, so I don't think it fair or accurate to assume that THAT is what you will see on air in December.
Maddie Baillio sang the National Anthem at the Orioles game last night. She's got a great voice, but the song was sooooooo long. This isn't Broadway. It's the National Anthem. Sing it without all the embellishments and get off the field.
Still, impressed with her and looking forward to the show.
That dance step combo was awesome. Loved how they incorporated elements from the twist, the jerk and the mashed potato so flawlessly into that routine. And Derek Hough? What a hottie!
Billy Eichner joins the cast as "Rob Barker, a local TV newscaster for Baltimore’s WZZT who reports on Tracy Turnblad’s escape from the law and her attempt to integrate The Corny Collins Show."
According to this article, Paul Vogt has been added as Harriman F. Spritzer. Vogt has played Edna in, I believe, more high-profile productions than anyone else to date and is a fantastic addition to the cast!
And let's not forget the ensemble (a good sprinkling of Broadway talent and So You Think You Can Dance alums)!
Meron added, “In terms of the footprint, I think the footprint of this particular production is probably the biggest of any of the live musicals that have been done on television, ours included and Grease: Live included. What’s wonderful about it is that we learn and we grow from each iteration. We grew in terms of the three that we did.Grease: Live basically honored us, in terms of doing it live and then taking what we’ve done and putting their own mark on it."
Somehow the tone of those words seem very... cocky to me. Not sure what his delivery was when he said them, but it's not coming off humble or modest. They didn't honor you, they one-upped you. Significantly. You are honoring them if anything by copying their ideas of multiple venues and live audience integration.
Caption: Every so often there was a rare moment of perfect balance when I soared above him.

Yes, cocky at worst...delusional at best. The man is clearly in denial. Zadan/Meron didn't invent the concept of live programming on television, they simply revived it.
FOX was not honoring anyone with what they accomplished with GREASE: LIVE - - - they basically re-invented the concept and set the bar higher for future live musical productions. They are the ones to beat and that is why Zadan and Meron find themselves with no other option and are literally forced to copy them.
They can't in their right minds ever go back and do their live shows the way they did before, not after what FOX accomplished with GREASE: LIVE.
I realized that we have the full cast and ensemble, but never got any actresses for the Matron. I'm really hoping they don't cut The Big Dollhouse like they did in the movie. I would imagine if (hopefully) it wasn't cut:
1. The Matron will be played by one of the women in the ensemble.
2. Andrea Martin or, more likely, Rosie O'Donnell will take on the role.
3. The article that was shared earlier today stated: "Meron also shared with BroadwayWorld that there is a 'strong possibility' that viewers will see a cameo appearance (s) from actresses who have previously portrayed the iconic role of Tracy Turnblad."
Marissa Jaret Winokur also hinted at a cameo a few months earlier. Could she be playing the Matron as a "surprise!" during the show? Or maybe even Ricki Lake?
Also do we think Ricki Lake and/or Nikki Blonsky will be making a cameo as well?

Don't worry. All of the songs from the broadway show will be in this.
