Ta’Rea was my first Angelica in an otherwise meh cast in St. Louis. Satisfied was one of the best parts of the show. We had understudies for Hamilton, Burr, and Laf/Jeff and the chemistry between the male leads was just not there. Our Eliza was also just okay. But Ta’Rea? Insane
There were a lot of principal male absences when I saw the tour in DC 2 years ago. Saw the 2nd cover for Burr. Not good at all!! Same thing happened when I saw the tour in Baltimore in 2019 (different Burr cover).

Did you see the very first iteration of the Phillip tour? I agree about the male leads but I thought Shoba Narayan and Nyla Sostre were just as good as T’area.

Totally agree. I thought Ta'Rea was phenomenal and she has a killer voice. I was hoping she was the replacement.

Yes, if I recall correctly she played Angelica for a short time while Jennie Harney-Fleming was on leave/break.

I did not- my first Eliza just ended her run on Broadway. I thought she was fine. Burn didn’t have the emotional punch it needed.
I saw the tour again in Chicago in January, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but that Eliza was sleepwalking through the role. She genuinely did not looked like she cared about being on stage. She left the tour a few weeks later in a huge cast change- maybe she was burnt out but it really took me out of the show. I’ve seen a bunch of similar comments in other places about her performance…

Tamar Greene will be starring in Stages St. Louis’ production of Ragtime as Coalhouse Walker Jr. His son is playing Coalhouse III and his wife is the understudy for Sarah. Full cast drops at 4 pm EST.
Many of you may remember that a video of Tamar singing Wheels of a Dream to his son went viral last year. It’s a dream role of his, and as a current St. Louis resident I feel so fortunate that we get to steal him from NY for a few months!! The production runs September 20 - October 20th, so he will probably be back in Hamilton in late October.
Tamar will be a wonderful Coalhouse!

Just announced that Shereen Pimentel is Sarah, which explains why she is leaving Cats. This is going to be a not-to-be-missed production if you’re in the Midwest!!
Nicholas Christopher is playing George Washington August 27th through October 20th, according to his IG story.

Just got back from seeing the new Angelica tour in St. Louis. It’s my 3rd time seeing the show live and this is without a doubt the best cast I’ve seen. I would expect many of the principals to eventually transfer to Broadway. Eliza, Washington, and Burr were all standouts. Justin Sargent stole the show as KGIII and delivered the best You’ll Be Back I’ve ever heard. I can’t recommend the tour enough, even if you have seen the show before

How is the Broadway cast currently specifically Trey Curtis as Hamilton and Jared Dixon as Burr? I am debating between seeing this or Wicked for the 10th Time I really want to see Mary Kate Morrisey but also am dying to see Hamilton but might want to wait for a new cast. The only person I know of in this cast is Nicholas Christopher.
Has anyone seen the show recently and can they comment on the quality of the new cast? Just want to manage my expectations for when I see it again with LOJ. Last time I went was in 2017, and I really disliked Munoz, Lawson, Gonzalez. I was shocked at how poor those performances were for a hit show only 2 years into the run.
Who'll be there in the room where it happens tonight for Leslie's return?

I have seen Hamilton live 5 times, only once with the original cast, and I have seen it on Disney a few times.
I decided to see the movie today to see if it made a difference on a big screen, as purported. My opinion: I thought it represented a sizable improvement over watching it on my TV (my home TV is 65 inches, so not huge but certainly not small, and it has a good if not outstanding sound system).
Here is the thing that I concluded, however, after this latest viewing. I am not sure there is any point in my paying to see it live again, when there is such an amazing record of the original cast. I have seen very talented people in the other live viewings, but none have come close to the individual performances of Daveed Diggs, Christopher Jackson, Phillipa Soo or Renee Elise Goldsberry. While that may not be true of LMM's performance (at least one I saw was as good, perhaps better), but he will always score bonus points as author and originator of the role. ( For reasons I can not articulate, Leslie Odom Jr's. performance has never bowled me over).
