Many tours are on a Coronavirus break, but when Hamilton resumes, the Angelica company tour has a new Peggy/Mariah—Straight from Jagged Little Pill, Yana Perrault!
Pierre Gonzalez officially has replaced a Joseph Morales as Hamilton on the Phillip tour.
Re-Opening Cast: Miguel Cervantes as Alexander Hamilton will lead the Broadway Hamilton company that also features Krystal Joy Brown as Eliza Hamilton; Mandy Gonzalez as Angelica Schuyler; Tamar Greene as George Washington; Jin Ha as Aaron Burr; James Monroe Iglehart as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson; Euan Morton as King George III; Fergie L. Philippe as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison; Aubin Wise as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds and Daniel Yearwood as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton
I don’t plan on seeing the show again on Broadway until there is a new Angelica.
Does anyone know why Daniel Breaker is not returning?
Edited: I also just noticed Amber Ardolino is joining the ensemble, which means she will no longer be in Moulin Rouge!, at least for the time being. She was one of the Satine understudies… what could this mean???
Alexander Ferguson is also new to the ensemble. I saw him on tour a couple of years ago. He went on as Burr when I saw the show in Baltimore. I didn't particularly care for his performance.
Hey Dottie!
Did your colleagues enjoy the cake even though your cat decided to sit on it? ~GuyfromGermany
Remember the long flood of reopening announcements back in early May? Looks like we're seeing the same kind of thing again with full cast reveals... gonna be an interesting next several days/few weeks.

Ryan Vasquez announced he wasn't returning a few months ago after his friend opened up on bullying from producers/stage management from when they were in the Angelica tour together along with the Scott Rudin bombshell. I assume Alexander is replacing him . Shame as Ryan wanted somebody of color to replace him ...
Crazy that almost everybody is returning. Wonder what other "long runners" ' casts will be. Eryn Lecroy was about to leave Phantom for 1776 when the shutdown hit. I keep wondering who was going to replace her and feel bad for whoever it was.
Not sure if this is the right thread but I saw Hamilton last night and wanted to give my 2c. Summary:
Exceptional: Jin Ha (Burr), Tamar Greene (Washington)
Very Good: James Monroe Inglehart (Jefferson), Krystal Joy Brown (Eliza), J. Quinton Johnson (Mulligan/Madison)
Good: Migeul Cervantes (Hamilton), James Monroe Inglehart (Lafayette), Mandy Gonzales (Angelica), all other roles
Yes I split out JMI's two roles as his Jefferson is much better than his Lafayette.
I almost put J. Quinton Johnson in exceptional but the role doesn't have enough to work with to be standout - but this guy has a lot of potential. Forgive me if he is well known but as the only major sub for the night (he's not in the playbill, I don't know his official role) I was very impressed. I liked him better than Oak. It looks like he's gong to a writer's workshop so if he originates a role out of that I wouldn't be surprised.
Jin Ha and Tamar Greene were so very good. Jin Ha shows a beautiful, smooth arrogance that fits the Burr character so well. His singing was excellent as well. I think without a comparison anyone would find him fantastic. When you compare to Leslie Odom Jr. though he is missing a bit of subtly, mostly on the anger side. Wait For It was still a knock out but Leslie can make you cry. It can be an unfair comparison.
Tamar has a great authority presence and sense of urgency to his Washington. His acting is and singing were excellent - you really felt like he was the character. One Last Time brought the house down - it certainly had the most enthusiastic reception. I am not sure if this is normal for the song.
Going in I was most excited to so James Monroe Inglehart and Mandy Gonzalez. I loved James in Aladdin and Mandy in In The Heights. As someone said before James' Lafayette leaves much to be desired, but it was fine. His Jefferson was much better, and a lot more fun. He has a different rhythm for the rapping which made it a bit more musical. I think he is a great replacement but it's no comparison to Daveed. Same with Mandy. I thought she did great but rapping is certainly not her strong suit. She did fine but does not knock it out of the park like Renee. IMO the roles don't play to their strengths.
Miguel Cervantes was fine as Hamilton. He felt a bit off more me in the beginning (probably the hardest part to nail with all of that rapping) and grew on me as the show went. Krystal Joy Brown was great as Eliza - she showed great vulnerability in the beginning and made a great transition to irritated, then heartbroken/annoyed, to utterly devastated, back to smoothed over (forgiveness). Thinking about it now Eliza has a lot of major character development whereas a lot of the other characters don't have to evolve so much. Krystal's singing was fantastic.
Euan Morton as the king was more "kingly" a less playful than Jonathan Groff's take. He was fine.
I think anyone going into the show blind, or somewhat familiar with the material, would have a great time. Anyone very familiar with the cast recording or OBC filmed on stage will be making the sometimes (almost unfair) comparisons. I think as the show and the OBC have a much larger exposure than your normal show these comparisons will likely continue. Perhaps why James and Mandy are sitting in their roles for a bit (plus its a good gig). I know in the beginning it was a bit slow to find replacements for Lafayette/Jefferson and Angelica.
All in all, I had a great time, and very pleased that the show runners are still putting great care into holding the show to a high standard. It did not feel diluted from the original at all. Any comments I had were on individual performances/takes but overall I feel like everything from the original concept has been preserved.
Thanks for the review. I’m surprised you found Miguel Cervantes to be just fine, but respect your perspective. I saw him three times in the Chicago production of Hamilton and found him to be fantastic. My heart does go out to him. I can’t imagine how hard it has to be after his own son’s death to play a man over and over who’s son dies.
Oh that’s just awful. My heart goes out to him as well.
I remember liking Edred Utomi as Hamilton when I saw it in Baltimore, going in blind. I remember turning on the cast recording for the first time and thinking Lin sounded awful in comparison. Now I’m used to Lin’s interpretation, not that he is the best Hamilton but you can tell he wrote himself into the role. With Miguel as my third Hamilton I thought he did well, I just didn’t see anything that stood out. I did enjoy him much more in the second act.

I believe it was his daughter that passed. But still loss of a child.
Yana Perrault will be re-joining the Angelica company as Peggy/Maria. She was due to join the cast sometime in March 2020 but obviously, COVID happened. So glad she is actually going to debut this time!

She's also set to play Buttercup Utonium in The CW's Powerpuff series
According to the Hamilton website Kyle Scatliffe is replacing James Iglehart. I never saw Kyle on the Hamilton tour but he was great in The Color Purple.
