That's not how it works in London, so I don't see why it would be any different for Broadway.

Because it says so on the website
"Yes, during the purchase process you will have the option to purchase for just one Part on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday performances if you wish to, subject to availability."
"We want to make sure that audiences have the best possible chance of seeing the play in one day. If we sold the Saturday and Sunday performances separately, then there would be no way of guaranteeing that audiences who see a matinee of Part One could also see Part Two on the same day."

Yes, they can't "demand" that all of their ticket buys spend all day with them. They offer/suggest you see it 2 days in a row or the same day, but you dont' have to.

Actually, on either West End ticketing website, you aren't able to purchase a ticket for just one part on Saturday or Sunday. However, I don't know about the box office situation in that regard. As I mentioned, though, Part 2 is easier to get a ticket at the box office day-of than Part 1.
Honestly, it's just more of a hassle not getting both parts back-to-back, logistically.

I'm trying to make peace with possibly having to pay $400 for orchestra seats to both parts. My seats in London were fabulous and pretty affordable.

This is the amount I was thinking.

So, boredom took over and I wanted to figure out ticket price estimates based on the current price structure in London.
First, I looked at the prices for Wicked on both West End and Broadway…
For a random Saturday evening performance in January 2018:
Wicked West End:
Premium is £125 ($162 at the current exchange rate), Cheapest is £24.25 ($31.44), and the average seat is roughly £74.75 ($96.92)
Wicked Broadway:
Premium is $212 (£163.50), Cheapest is $99 (£76.35), and the average seat is roughly $149 (£114.92)
Difference is about $56/£43. Taking that, multiplying it by 2 (because of the two parts) and applying it to Cursed Child…
Cursed Child West End (prices are for both parts) and the calculated Broadway counterpart:
Premium is £250 ($324.15) and £199 ($258.02)… $436.15 (or about $218/part) and $370.02 (or $185/part)
Price Band A is £140 ($181.52)… $293.52 (or $147/part)
Price Band B is £135 ($175.04)… $287.04 (or $144/part)
Price Band C is £115 ($149.11)… $261.11 (or $131/part)
Price Band D is £85 ($110.21)… $222.21 (or $111/part)
Price Brand E is £40 ($51.86)… $163.86.86 (or $82/part)
Price Brand F is £30 ($38.90)… $150.90 (or $75/part)
All that to say, I think the cheapest seats will be around the $150 price for the two parts. Average seats might be around the $300 price for the two parts. Premium seats will definitely be $400-$500 price range (if not more) for the two parts.
So, basically what everyone's been saying in this thread. LOL! ![]()

Wicked has a different producer, and only requires 1 performance. Also, J.K. Rowling insists that tickets be affordable. Why not base it on the actual existing production in London? Since it's the SAME show by the SAME producer, it would be more properly comparable.

^i just checked the Wicked U.K. website and the producers are the exact same as the Broadway producers. Stone, both platts, universal and Araca

Is it likely that opening night tickets will be on sale, or is that by invitation only? If they are for sale, would they be more expensive for opening night rather than later in the first week?
(I know the presale registration is still months away...just looking for any speculation/insight while trying to plan a Broadway-focused trip in April.)

Shows normally do not sell tickets for opening night. Sometimes they release a few a couple days before. I doubt HP will ever release opening night tickers im sure it'll definitely be filled. If they do thoufh I wouldn't expect it to be released it October

I'm confused.. I thought I'd already signed up for a code that would be sent Oct 1 for purchasing on Oct 12. Now there's a new sign-up period for Oct 1-5, with tix on sale Oct 18. Do we have to re-register? Hmm...

Umm, you’ve never registered. Maybe signed up for their email? Registration has always been Oct. 1-5. Only thing that’s changed is the onsale date.

Ticket registration has always been October 1; the only "sign-up" on their website is a newsletter that will remind you on October 1 that registration for tickets is open. Only thing that has changed is ticket sale date which is now October 18. Sign-Up period is also the same.

Thanks for that. I recently saw it in London from the Stalls, Row A, Seat 10 for £140 for both parts so... ugh...

So, not accounting for the exchange rate, the ticket prices for Broadway are pretty much double compared to London. The two-show price for London is essentially the per performance price on Broadway. And they haven't released the premium pricing yet. I had a feeling that's what they were going to do. Those $200/per performance seats are still going to be terrible seats, based on the fact that the show will have premium seats and what a barn that theater is.
