so after these audtions are they going to do final call backs? anyone know?
I have a few questions. What are people wearing to these auditions? Has anyone been asked to dance yet? Has anyone gone to an audition in LA and if so, were there many girls there? Are people using character voices while auditioning.
Good luck to anyone that is auditioning. Break a leg!
ooooh i'm so exited this thread is back up and running! i noticed more open calls had been announced and was hoping it would strike up interest in this thread again. i've missed you guys! :)
no news from anyone to me. but who knows? i'm just waitin and don't even think about it anymore except in my dreams. don't want to get my hopes up. i'm excited to hear people who didn't get call backs are being contacted, too. i auditioned in chicago and only 2, i belive, were called back. anyhoo, just expressing my happiness and excitement! :)

VonTussleGirl -- That's great news! Thanks for that! I just hope they understand that I don't photograph well, haha, and that all I want is an audition. :) I emailed a few days ago... let's hope for the best!
i'm at a hotel in delaware right now. i'm so excited for the audition! please feel free to say hi if you see me! break a leg all of you who are trying out!
showstopper2,
hey! i'm wearing something comfortable and loose.. but still looks nice. i'm rather tall so i'm not wearing heels. i tend not to at auditions. and hair off of my face, of course! i wish you the best of luck!!!
thanks- i dont know about anyone else, but im very nervous. ive never been in front of a camera before and its a little bit intimidating knowing that so many girls want the same thing i do- y'know? anyways, good luck to everyone and have fun!
The people who you have to audition for are REALLY nice and cool, so I hope that helps peoples nerves! Good luck everyone!!!

Question to those who have auditioned:
How strict are they on the 8 bar thing. I plan on singing Without Love, but starting from the beginging, and singing until the end of the chorus. Do you think they will cut me off?
Also how many people are in the audition room when you first audition?
Do they split you up into "types" like...all "Links" go one way, all "Seaweeds" go this?

To Link Larkin Wanabe- At the Baltimore audition they weren't very strict about the 8 bars, I sang 16 of Good Morning Baltimore and wasn't stopped, and there were even some girls who sang whole verses of songs and weren't stopped either.
When you first audition they split you into groups of 25, so all of those people see you audition, plus two men doing the casting.
They don't seperate you by types, people trying for all different parts auditioned together.
Break a leg!
What is the email address that people have been sending their resumes and headshots to?
Hey...
Is anyone else going to the TO auditions? Im really really excited about the opportunity to go to a big open call. My only problem is, that the earliest bus I can take in (from kitchener) would get there at 9, which is when the auditions start...and I would really like to be there beforehand. Do you think I would still get seen if I got there 1/2 hour after the auditions started?
How did auditions go in Baltimore? Good luck to all auditioning this weekend!
i'm going to the audition in Toronto this weekend. I leave tomorrow. i'm coming from florida. is anyone else gonnq be there?????

Directions for anybody coming to Toronto casting call at the Elgin. It is located on Yonge St.@ Queen.
If driving in from Buffalo take QEW to Gardiner Expressway exit Yonge st. drive north. Can't miss it.
If driving on 401 exit yonge st.Drive south. Long drive.
If coming in by train get off at Union Station from there take the Yonge St. subway, Its a big U so go in the right direction so your under Yonge st. get off at Queen.
If coming by bus there are 2 bus terminals if you end up at Union station read above but there is also a second Bus Terminal near Dundas and Yonge just ask which way to Yonge when you find it turn right heading south and in a few blocks you'll see it.You can walk it easy.

Just for a little Trivia the Elgin theatre is one of the huge theatres from ?1920's 3000 seats very ornate. They decided to restore it in the early 90's and they were fixing a wall that was cracked so they chopped away the plaster and saw a set of doors they opened it and discovered an even more grand theatre hidden for 60 70 years and was totally forgotten. They restored that too.
howd u guys make appt????
make apointments? I don't think you actually do make appointments, you just show up. Im 90% sure.
The elgin is the only stage door ive ever actually been in in TO, thats where the Ross Petty Pantomimes are every year and I've had friends in it for a few years. So I actually sort of know where Im going, which is good. I have NO sense of direction.

Shneb -- I was also asked to send in a tape (I got the e-mail a few days ago), and I'm basically thinking just a quick hello (gives you a bit more time in front of the directors than at a normal audition), and then the entire song, rather than just the 8 bars. If they're gonna watch your tape, they'll watch it all. :)
Voleeyballer,
Not neccessarily. I know people taht work at casting agencies and they ahve to view so many tapes that they will stop after a very short time if they aren't impressed...so you better start at a good part of the song.

Has anyone who sent in videos gotten a call yet??? I havent heard anything....

i agree with Link, don't sing the whole song. they may get pissed that you didn't follow directions. just sing your best 8 bars and you're good.

Hmm... well what if I start from "Once I was a selfish fool..." and go to "Never set me free, Tracy, no, no, no." It's more than 8 bars, but it's not the entire song. That's not what I meant when I said entire -- I just meant, like, Link's first little part. Is that too much?
