I didn't get to go because apparently I was "too out of the way" for my ride.. AKA a ten minute intervention.

Anyways, my 3 friends went and all made it past, I guess, the first round? They didn't get called back though. :

I'm disappointed I couldn't go though, I thought it would be a great experience. Oh well!

I used my normal belt voice. I thought it might be risky to use a character voice, if it wasn't exactly what they were looking for.

Hey guys,

I had a great audition. I was in surprisingly good voice (which was weird because it was early and cold) and made the judges chuckle with my antics, but I didn't get a callback though. I'm quite sure it was because I look a bit too old. But I honestly have no regrets and didn't really have any post-audition depression that I do on other auditions where I don't get a callback.

It was a pretty funny experience though. When I first got my ticket number the two first-round casting directors just look you over and decide if you fit the "types" they are looking for me. At first the girl gave me a quizzical look and turned to the other one and said "What do you think?" the other girl responded "Would you be willing to take out the eyebrow piercing" and I said I was planning on doing it before I even went in to the audition.

Oh and another thing: As far as I know no guys were called back. I don't know if this meant that there was nobody they thought were right for the part...or if they are doing callbacks later for Link. Who knows.

And Seannak, hah I thought I saw you too. Were you upstairs in the waiting area when I was. I think I was there when you got a clalback...maybe I mistook you for someone else. Anyways break a leg tomorrow and let us know how it goes (and tell me if there are any Link's called back).

Ya..I think you were there when I got my callback. I saw them turning away a ton of guys just at the first table. And I didn't see any who got callbacks either, but I'll let you know what happens tomorow for sure!

Hah you can do what I did and just ask the girls that usher you in if there have seen any guys on that day. I was over halfway and the girl said she couldn't think of any.

ahhhh that scares me that supposedly they didnt ask anybody back for link...that makes me nervous, i hope they dont just look at my headshot and turn me away. i wonder what they plan on doing: more auditions or just going for someone with a name

seannak, can I ask what number you were?

And does anyone know about "this young black girl who could belt like NO tomorrow, and got turned down" ?

Apparently she was incredible, and she sang the high note of her audition and "everyone went quiet". I wasn't there, so I can't really say anything about it... but I love me some belting.

I heard someone singing really loudly. Whoever it was sounded good, and people shut up because it was really loud and they were listening. and then everyone clapped when she stopped cause it was like she realized everyone had been listening. But I wasn't really paying attention because I had just come back from getting my callback and was sort of flying. So it may or may not have been the girl you were talking about.

Hah there was a girl in front of me in the lounge area with erh dad that had played Nala in Toronto Lion King...it might have been her...and it seems like they were only calling back Tracys.

The best was when a black guy that totally looked right for Seaweed came in and they turned him away and he was like "I could totally be caucasian!" and everyone laughed.

And why would they have an open call for him then? To cast the "Nicest Kids"?

no idea who.

most likely for nicest kids, that makes the most sense. and they are still looking for the other roles which is why they're goin ahead with the open calls.

no but they specifically were asking for Links and were turning away people that didn't fit the parts they were looking for (aka...Seaweeds and stuff)

Also can I ask why you think they have cast Link? or how you know? not that I don't beleive you, I just want as much info as you have :P you can PM me if you dont want to post it here.

Sorry, LittleWing, but I highly doubt the validity of what you said. What makes you think that Link has already been cast? If he had, why the heck would they announce an Open Call? And again, they're most likely casting the Nicest Kids only in Toronto locally -- no providing of living arrangements, airplanes, food, etc. are needed when the cast is local.

Ooooo... I'm so exited for them to start casting once the open calls are done! I got calledback in NYC and have been waiting to here news of anyone being cast or called back since Febuary! I'm really exited about this movie (even if nothing ferther happens for me)and I wish EVERYONE on this board good luck!

My friends said that this girl got a callback who was *really* good, and they knew the number, and you're the only person I've heard of who got a Toronto callback, so I thought maybe there was a connection? I'm not sure though.

They were numbers 27, 28 and 29, or something around there.

i was called back from NY. but couldnt go to the callback so i had to make an audition video. only they wanted 21 bars of good morning baltimore and they sent me a scene. it was actually really fun to make. :)

Just finished my video. It's a quick lil' intro of "Hi" and then Link's first verse (Once I was a selfish fool... >>> ... Tracy, no, no, no.) I'm going to send it in tomorrow... and luckystar, it IS fun to make!! Hah!

I just talked to him about it today, actually, and he didn't go because he's currently in Montreal. The producers told him to send in a video audition, but I'm not sure if he's done so yet.

He just recently got accepted into Sheridan, so I don't know what he's deciding to do as of now.

I think this would be a big break for him, he just seems to fit the role perfectly, IMO. :

i went to the ones in las vegas yesterday and i got a call back. entertainment tonight was there and they taped us all and our auditions. they did the first callback the same day, and then they had a second call back for the next day...i didnt get called back for that. buit it was nice that the auditors said that the first callback gorup was 'their favorites'...hehe

entertainment tonight interviewed a few poeple. it was really exciting!

only one girl got a second call back...she was really good. perfect.

i think i didnt get it ebcause i wasnt big enough...lol


first time ive ever had that prblem...
