well now that the last open calls are over I really hope we hear something soon about casting, callbacks etc! Good luck to everyone who got a call back during the open call process the past few months.
I hope this isnt too OT.
But has anyone here seen this girl named Caety Sagoian on YouTube? She has her audition tapes up and is very talented - and I was wondering if she was sending them to be in the movie or show.

the latter has a scene which isnt really the same script as in the show.. is that a side from the movie?
Hey!
My callback went really well. I thought my reading could have been slightly better, just because I wasn't really sure where to focus and direct my reading, so that was floating around in my head and I wasn't concentrating like I could have, but other than that it was great. They were really nice. I got to sing more than I thought I would (21 or so bars as opposed to the 8 that were marked on the paper) which was good.
I asked the girl working the desk and she said that they did call back a few Little Inez's and a few Links. She also mentioned that they had already found a Seaweed, I don't know if thats 100% true or not. She also mentioned that we should know for sure if they want to see you again by early may.
And now...Im just waiting! (well...I should actually start studying for my exams) But even if that was it for me...I think it was a great experience! good luck to all!
Seannak.
Yay! I'm so glad you did well. Well those few Link callbacks dash my theories of Link already being cast. Be sure to update us if you hear back from them on a further date.

Hi all, I am new to the board. It has been great reading all the stories, really encouraging!! So early last week I got a call from the casting director in LA asking me to send in another tape. I had sent in an e-mail and then was asked to send in a tape, which I did. He said they liked the tape alot and gave me some notes and asked me to send in another one. In my daze I was able to ask him if they liked what I did. He said they liked it alot and they thought I was really right for the part (Tracy), and that they wanted the new tape to show the director. I didnt say anything because I wasnt sure exactly what this ment, and I didnt want to step on anyones toes, especially with auditions still going on. So, we shall see what happens, my new tape gets there tomorrow morning. Regardless of what happens, I am so honored to even be called by the casting people!! Definetly a first for me! Good Luck to everyone! And keep us posted, I will for sure!

Great job, angelsong! Good luck to you! It's always nice to hear of progress for those of us on the board!
And mateo, that side is the one they provide the call-back Tracys (or the special audition ones, as my friend was called in for a closed audition and read that scene). And that girl is FANTASTIC! Seriously! I can absolutely picture her as Tracy!

wow just saw the "youtube" audition.
...
i dont have a chance.hahah.
that girl is amazing.
Thanks everyone!! My acting coach told me to put it out of my mind! Easier said than done!
I watched the tape of the girl from seattle. She was fantastic! Mine was different, definetly less stage acting. When the casting guy called me he told me to make it less stagey. Less is More on video he said. He wanted more "truth of the emotion", "from within". Who knows what they want! It all boils down to what the director likes!

they said basically almost the same thing when i did my call back reading. less stagy. its funny, ive been trained to audition in a theatre setting and never a movie. its interesting how different they can be. im so glad they decided to do open calls for these bc they are great experiences!
They weren't giving any direction to anyone at the TO readings, they were just whipping through everyone. I was kind of sad I didn't get a chance to take direction.

Rumor has it that the top contenders are a girl from Baltimore and a girl from Toronto. And no, Link has not yet been cast.

When I got called back for penny, the things they gave me to read were different from the stage script, so yeah...
on a different note I was wondering if people have heard of other girls being called back for Penny? I'm just trying to figure out if I still stand a chance.
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofurumor has it? and would those people know that it was them? lol.
Where did the rumor come from? Thats what I want to know?
i really dont think that girl on youtube is good. and i think she tried to hard to be look like marissa.
I want to know so bad, its killing me! I just wish they would make a decision so we could know and get on with it!! I check this board all the time, its sad! Oh well, thats the way the biz goes I guess!
Angelsong, a girl at my school had almost the exact same experience as you. I think she recently sent in her third or fourth video.
Well, that makes me feel very un-special, but thats ok. Again I'll say it...the biz! Thats the way it goes!
To get a callback or asked to send a second tape is a big deal!! Don't feel unspecial!
True! Cheers to us all!
i have a quick question for angelsong: when did u send in ur original tape? basically, how long did it take for the casting people to call u back! congrats again!!!!
there was a blurb on et or access (one of the 7:30 shows) about casting, they showed very quickly some girls, it was nice
Its too late to send in tapes and stuff...the official site lists the tenth as the last day to send anything in.
I sent my tape in a few weeks ago. I live in Texas so it took a few days for it to get to LA. It got there on a Thursday and I got a call the Monday after that. So about four days from the point they recieved it. Which was actually only about 2 to 3 buisness days. Yeah, Seannak is right, all materials were due Monday morning, the casting guy told me to get it in by early this week. I had a really bad case of bronchitis and said I wasnt sure I would be able to get it in, and he said, well if you dont get it in, you dont get it in! So, I ate zinc like it was candy for about five days so I could make another one! And thankfully it worked out!
