The dress rehearsal was AMAZING! Audra McDonald sat right behind me and I met James Rado and Jonathan Groff after the performance. Groff was having a lot of mic problems throughout, so stagehands kept bringing on a hand-held mic for him. I didn't see the concert in September, but there was a lot of audience interaction. The curtain call is so much fun. I'll definately go back again!

Does Groff still look like a girl with his wig?

Is there a stage door at the Delacorte? If so, where?

From the pix I've seen, he looks LOTS better than he did last fall.

He will never be able to escape Spring Awakening.

What about the nudity?
There was an item in the paper yesterday that they didn't have a PeePee Permit yet.

There was nudity, but you couldn’t really see anything because it was done in silhouette.

Jonathan Groff's wig looked a lot less skanky than the pictures I've seen. I was pleased.
The nudity was there (it wouldn't be Hair without it) but it was tastefully done, as defyingravity11 said, in silhouette.
I sat by several past and present Spring Awakening cast members and they all giggled every time Jonathan came on with the handheld mic. :)

I didn't time it, but I'd say about 2 hours and 15 mins.

Yeah, I was home by 10:30, so it was about 2 hours. The post-curtain call dance party was pretty lengthy :)

How early can I expect people to be in line for tickets next weekend? I want to see the show again Friday night. What time does the line generally begin to form for a 1:00 box office opening?

the show is about 2:20 plus intermission and curtain call, but i wasnt paying very close attention to the time. Curtain call and after the show were longer...everyone was dancing and singing and it was a jolly good time.

Saw the show tonight, it was cut short due to rain but it was electric!

I have been a bit leery of this revival, thinking it was too dated to work, how would a Tribal Rock Musical play in 2008 where the times have changed and there is no draft and "free love" has been all but squashed with the AIDS epidemic? Hippies and Flower Power now seem like a cliched character sketches in comedy shows or flash backs in sit-coms.
Surprisingly the revival at he Delacorte shines through! Is it dated? Yep! Is it a little too clean? Yep! Did Groff make a convincing Claude? Nope, though he sang the score magnificently (trademark spritz and all)! Was his wig as bad as it was in the free concert? Kinda though a little more believable.
Cast all were great, the feeling of that Summer of Love seemed to coalesce and reach across the decades. For me, it was a treasure to hear the catalogue of my coming of age years sung with such perfection. There were actual times I found myself tearing up, over the silly songs like "Frank Mills" and the soul searching "Where Do I Go?".
The very simple set...fit beautifully making the whole production feel like a "Happening". The Choreography echoed the sixties "Hippy in the park" feel.
Will Swenson was a very hot and wonderful Berger (though one might argue a little long in the tooth to be expelled from High School) . Patina Renea Miller kicked some serious butt in "White Boys"! Everyone else seemed in good shape!
The show ended early because the thunderstorm which threatened finally arrived, during "Three-Five-Zero-Zero". The cast didn't skip a beat and when the lyric "Out there they try to end this beauty." was sung the audience went wild cheering and clapping! The electricity in the theatre was INCREDIBLE!
The actors were told to leave the stage upon finishing "What a Piece of Work is Man".
About half the audience remained to see if the rain would stop. Unfortunately it didn't but the whole experience seemed so in keeping with the piece that I don't think too many were very disappointed.
I am hoping I can find time to see the show again before it ends in the Delacorte. A truly wonderful production!

Thanks for your comments, but the lyric is actually "How dare they try to end this beauty" (I think).

It's possible. Won't be the first time I have misheard or misremembered lyrics. Should have heard the versions to Sodomy i sang when I was 13 and didn't know what the words actually were or meant! I would run around the house singing "Mass starvation can be fun!"

How have the ticket lines been? A big group of my friends and I are planning to camp out tonight for tickets to tomorrow's show...how early should we get there?

Last night there was a sizable standby line for people to get a chance for the cancellation tickets. I guess because of the weather all of them got in and there were still some empty seats during the performance. People I knew who were in that line got there around 5:30 - 6. They got in.
