It's simply remarkable that The Brilliant Original has been on Broadway - and in the same theatre - for this long, and counting. I can't believe I haven't seen it live yet (as remarkable as the 25th anniversary London proshot is).
New B-roll and production photos were released yesterday... starting tonight, Emilie Kouatchou becomes the first black woman to take on Christine Daaé full-time on Broadway!

I'm so happy that the Broadway production is still, essentially, the one created by Prince, Bjornson, and Lynne. At least for now.

This anniversary boggles the mind due to the sheer passage of time alone! I worked at the Majestic Theatre when Phantom first opened. I will always associate this show with me being very new to NYC.

I’m thrilled to see the anniversary performance tonight. I caught the Broadway not too long ago and it was in great shape - it’s in very good hands with Emilie.

I will be there this evening also. I had planned for Phantom to be the first show I saw when shows reopened, had planned on going the opening night, but I was just getting back to work and trying to get back in the swing of things. Then I was going to go to Emilie's first night and It also slipped my mind.
I saw the show on Broadway about two years after it opened and it was not the best performance. Didn't see it again until the tour in 2009 (Which was wonderful). I have been wanting to see it again on Broadway for a while now, tonight will be a nice night to revisit it.

SO thankful that the Broadway production is still 'the brilliant original'. I last saw it in November with Emilie Kouatchou and she is easily one of the best Christine's I have seen...and I have seen MANY. If you are a fan of the show I would highly recommend trying to see her.

I’ll also be there tonight. The last time I saw it was when Ali Ewoldt was Christine, and I thought she was wonderful. So glad I’ll be there to ring in the first Black full-time Christine on Broadway!

Happy Anniversary Phantom of the Opera! Was delighted to see Emilie in the show when I went last week - thought she was absolutely fantastic.

A wonderful evening. Great performances all around. Emilie was in tears at the curtain call. There was a short speech at the end and tv cameras were there for it. We got anniversary playbills and a nice pin as we entered.
