By watching them?
But first, I am seeing Judy Kaye in Souvenir in Westport.
Well, I put all 4 Best Musical nominee cast recordings (basically, the SPRING AWAKENING, GREY GARDENS, CURTAINS, and MARY POPPINS London recording) in a playlist on my iPod, and I'm going to do a little Tony shuffle tomorrow :)
Other than that, I'm not really sure. Maybe I'll wear my GREY GARDENS tshirt? I don't know, haha.
But yes, happy Tony weekend, everyone!
Dirty Rotten Guy- I do the same sh*t too!- I listened to all the TONYS nominees CRs (New Musical & Revival ) on my iPod all day long.
Then -Watch all my old Tony Awards tape leading to the big LIVE SHOW at 9 pm ...my only problem is I have to work on Monday and I usually get so hype up after the TONYS that I cannot sleep !
hmmm...sleeping pills !!!

I'm going to make myself nap after the Overnight walk tonight so I can be awake for the show!
(And BTW, congrats on NOT using an apostrophe!! :) )
of course : TONYS .... no apostrophe ... please
BTW- I want a TONYS Playbill this year.. Its like $25.00
at playbill.com , very expensive! ...I have not seen a TONYS Playbill . So is it like a regular playbill with this months theater news inside that they gave in every show on Broadway or this is something special?

I got a Tony playbill last year
Basically, it has pictures of all the nominees, presenters, and lists every single catergory that awards are up for.
For example, last year for Best Book, they listed the 4 nominees, such as THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, then gave a sample of the Book, which was a scan of one script page for the show (Like for DROWSY, they gave a scan of the opening monologue of the show. It was kind of small and hard to read). And for Best Costume Design, they showed some samples of costume designs. I hope that made sense!
But yeah, and then I'm pretty sure it included a timeline of all the shows and stuff that opened up to the Tonys.
It didn't have regular theatre news, just...all this darn Tony stuff.
Haha, words from sponsors like VISA, and just junk.
It's cool to look at though.
And yeah, jaystar, I would also listen have a Best Musical Revival playlist, but I only have 2 of the 4 cast recordings of the nominees, so it wouldn't work too well :)
Dirty Rotten Guy- Thanks for the TONYS Playbill info. I probably would buy it online. Too bad - I cant attend the Tonys this year
bec. tiks were like $ 200.00 a piece, no tuxedo and no cameras allowed inside (even though I would not take pics inside/its illegal ! - I just wanted to take a pic at the Radio City's Marquee, but what am i going to with the camera after that, ive heard horror stories of people's camera being confiscated , just by holding one and RC's ushers were really nasty about it)
Besides Ive already seen all those shows that would perform..
Revival Cast Recording - I think only 3 were recorded this year -namely -ACL, Company and Chorus Line and if you have an access on iTunes, its all available there for $9.99 ( The Apple Tree was not recorded and of course Les Miserables- who cares ? )

It's only a happy weekend if my favorites win.
Revival Cast Recording - I think only 3 were recorded this year -namely -ACL, Company and Chorus Line
Jaystarr, I believe you mean 110 in the Shade, Company, and Chorus Line...seeing as A Chorus Line and ACL are the same thing.
8pm on CBS right?
I just watched last year's awards this past week (I was there). This year I will have to tape them because 2 friends are taking me to see the Police in concert tomorrow evening. So I will be up until 1:00am or 2:00am watching the tape of the awards. I am sure I will have a great time at the concert, but I will be wondering what is going on with the awards. I may get to see the 1st few minutes as I live close to the arena where the concert is.
Correction ...
1. 110 in the Shade .. How can I forget Audra ?(my bad !)
2. The TONYS on CBS tommorow at 8 pm -11 pm EST (my bad again ! )
BJH2114- Thanks for the correction or else I would not noticed it..

I took Monday off of work so I could watch the Tonys Sunday night (I work 5am to 1pm, so the slightest late night is REALLY late to me!)
maybe we should all do our parts and go and promote the tonys .
Apparently, someone already thinks Ms. White has won the Tony!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julie_White
ah, don't you LOVE Wiki?
I love that !!! Julie White ALREADY won the Tony (past tense)- I wish....
But you know Wikipedia is not 100% correct. People who have acess can just go there and edit anything...
Does anyone here have access to Wikipedia..Can you pls
add the following :
Grey Gardens- Best Musical
Company- Best Revival of a Musical
Christine Ebersole- Lead Actress in a Musical
Raul Esparza- Lead Actor in a Musical
Mary Louis Wilson - Featured Actress in a Musical
John Gallagher- Featured Actor in a Musical
Scott Frankel,Michael Korie- Best Score & Lyrics
I would appreciate it very much and Thank you

I want White to win, but that isn't correct.
She hasn't won, yet.

Going to the Actor's Fund LA Tony Party, hosted by Bruce Vilanch and with Jerry Herman being presented the Julie Harris Lifetime Achievement award. Should be a lot of fun.
If nothing else, it has an open bar

I don't see anywhere on the page that Julie White has a Tony.

My friends and I all get together to watch the Tonys at someones house. We make ballots, and all vote, and at the end of the evening the one that guessed the most winners is the "Theatre God" for that year. I have won it the last 2 out of three years we have been doing this. We'll see how I do tomorrow. Living in St. Louis, we don't get to see any of the nominated shows until the tour here to the Fox. But we love watching the numbers and see what all the fuss is about.

My big Tony plans are to pray that the show ends before the Sopranos start (Tonys start at 6, Sopranos start at 9 here). At 9pm, my sister/room mate get the television, so she might make me miss the end!
Otherwise, I'll be on here while watching 'em!
