Kind of irrelevant what I think, no? It probably depends on whether they can extend or have to leave on a set date, given the union issues with the UK/US stuff. I'd imagine they all do a year and bail, especially after doing the show in the UK for a while before coming here. But I think the year starts when rehearsals begin, not performances?
From what I recall with Matilda and The Play that Goes Wrong a few years ago, the UK cast of both productions only stayed for 6 months. So for Harry Potter, some may leave sometime in September though some may extend. Who knows. They'll probably make an announcement in August?
The main 7 have said in interviews and on Instagram that they’re staying for a year. Though, I’m guessing they are staying til May 12, which is the last date on sale. The last original date on sale for London was the last performance for them. I think it’s make sense for that to happen, but who knows. They should definitely be there until March 2019 though. (If anyone is curious noma, Anthony, and poppy have confirmed that they are there for a year, so I’m guessing the others are the same)
Someone posted a while back about one of the British actors saying, at 2 months into the run, that he had 7 months left. So, maybe 9 months, which would end in January. Who knows, though? At this point, it's all speculation.
If the London cast currently on Broadway is the same cast who will be performing in Melbourne, then 9 months makes sense. From the website, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will begin performing in Melbourne in early 2019.

I totally can, but I feel that could go either way. I don’t think I’d be shocked if they did OR didn’t. I’ve also heard tell somewhere on these threads that the 7 Brits will be done in December, but everything is speculation at the moment.
A year from the start of rehearsals seems more likely than a year from the first preview (since they technically began working in the U.S. for the start of rehearsals). I wonder if the non-British cast members are contracted for a year, or if their contracts are up then, too?
