The 2nd time I saw Disney's THE LION KING.
I started dozing off about 20 minutes into the show and actually zonked-out before the end of Act 1. I snorted in my sleep which made my bf nudge me and I woke up. I dozed off again somewhere in Act 2 and made it fine until the curtain call as everyone started their standing ovation.
I tend to revisit shows numerous times. THE LION KING sadly is one of those only-for-one-time shows.
If I go to a show overexhausted, which I do often because nothing stops me from going, it sometimes happens.
Slept through most of "The Homecoming" and through some of "Enchanted April". Most times, though, I catch myself and sit straight up so that I don't.
I fell asleep at Les Miz, mainly because I didnt really sleep the night before, and I was forced to watch the show. And I almost fell asleep at Pirate Queen. I mean, Stephanie J Block was awesome, but everytime she's not on stage, I was struggling to stay awake.
I haven't, but the girl sitting next to me at the POTO tour slept all through Act 1.
My sister has, I think because she usually works night shifts and isn't used to being up late. I gave her an elbow in the ribs because she's a terrible snorer and I didn't want the whole theater to hear her!
I fell asleep during MILLIE. Don't remember much about it at all.

It seems that Wicked appears the most often on this list so far. I didn't have that problem -- I left after the first act.

..I wonder what the actors would look like if they saw someone sitting in the on - stage seats fall asleep. That would be funny to watch from the audience. :)
The Phantom of the Opera. I was LITTLE. I was not digging it. I had a nice snooze.
Ok, so I fell asleep at Wicked once. BUT. I was in the very back and I had spent ALL night up with my friend and her roomate at her university. So..there was no hope of me staying up.
But I won't lie, I'm totally ashamed of myself. As a performer, I'd be devastated if someone fell asleep during my show.
But I really couldn't help it.
Grey Gardens. I was kind lost for a few minutes.
My friend fell asleep during the first act of "Phantom of the Opera."
I don't blame her.
I could have fallen asleep during THE LION KING. I was close.
Last night, during the UK tour of Hello Dolly! I'm sorry, I couldn't stop myself, the show was just so bad!
The third time I saw PHANTOM in London ! I love the show but I was very tired from walking all day and I actually remember the scene I dozed off for a little ! It was the "Notes" scene in the second act !
Normally I get a little sleepy toward the end of Act 1, but I am usually able to stay awake. The only time I can really remember falling asleep majorly was, ironically, during Awake and Sing! This was a problem for both me and my friend, who then dubbed it "Sleep and Snore" instead. It's not that it was boring (in fact, I love this play and I really enjoyed this production), but we had just had a long trip into the city.
Also, my mom, who is notorious for falling asleep during any movie she sees, managed to fall asleep during Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. :)
I haven't but my Mom fell asleep when we saw Sweeney at the Met with Elaine Paige, we were in the second balcony and she found it boring. A few days later she dozed off for a few minutes during Hairspray.

My head was bobbing during Spelling Bee. We had flown in that morning, I hadn't slept, and we had seen Piazza that afternoon. I was wiped out. Of course when I got the cast recording later, I REALLY regretted not sleeping the night before.

cannison wanted to know if an actor noticed someone sleeping in the seats. I saw "Tru" years ago with Robert Morse in a one man show.
I was sitting in the second row stage right and the woman in front of me was fast asleep
There was a Christmas tree in corner of the stage and Morse had to hang an ornament on the tree was doing his lines and noticed the sleeping woman. He locked eyes with me sitting right behind her,
put his finger to his mouth and went "Sshhh".
No one else in the theater knew what was going on but him and me.

Add me to the "Wicked" list. I saw Ana Gasteyer and Kate Reinders twice in one day on Broadway their last Saturday in the show. I fell asleep during Defying Gravity at the matinee, and then I was in lotto seats for the evening and kept dozing off repeatedly. I love the show, but I hadn't slept the night before so I was quite tired. Kate told me she saw me from the stage at one point during the show. I hope it wasn't while I was sleeping.
In the middle of second act of Rent (tour).
I fell asleep during Pippin, Hal Princes Showboat (after an all-nighter), the 90's revival of Company (another all-nighter), the revival of Nine (the day I returned from a cruise), Jane Eyre (1st row)...which isn't THAT BAD considering I've been to appx 350 shows on Broadway.
I've walked out on Marie Christine and Neil Simons I Ought to be in pictures.
I have never done it... but my mom and I always joke about the time we went to see 42nd Street (a tour of the revival) in Long Beach. She was basically asleep through the whole thing except the tap dancing scenes and the ushers were laughing at her the whole time.

never have and hopefully never will. i would be so upset if someone fell asleep when I'm on stage.
now i don't feel so bad to admit that i dozed during OKLAHOMA (2002), THE KING & I (1996) and CONTACT (2000). I always get a little sleeping during the first act of Phantom during "All I Ask Of You"
Nice to know it's not just me.
