But I am thrilled to be able to visit and find out about shows as soon as they open, and talk with people who are as passionate about theatre--or more so--as I am.

I think "poisonous atmosphere" is a bit of an exaggeration, but a good example of this would be when I was fairly new and posted about being excited about being able to get tickets for the opening not of HAIR. A few posters ridiculed my enthusiasm. I don't know why some feel the need to do stuff like that...I guess it makes them feel empowered or superior.
