Grateful for not being in the touch-starved category. I imagine that's tough but I literally cannot fathom it. I don't move through the world hating being touched, but I haven't felt any yearning for months like some of my friends! I hung out with one in the park across a long towel a couple of weeks ago and it was great to see her, but she tried for a couple of DAYS beforehand via text to convince me to hug her. Sorry, find someone else!

SOME people in the rest of the USA "have issues about wearing a mask". Just as SOME people in NY "have issues about wearing a mask".
"
If your job requires you to wear a MASK you are going to WEAR one in NYC..My office will staff 20% of workforce back in the office by June 15 and MASKS must be worn entering the building, elevators, lobby and in the common areas of the office per company email today. If you don't wear a MASK you will be denied entry in to the building and the office. Just saying...Not a problem for me."
Apparently I wasn't clear. Your statement that I highlightedis offensive to those of us who live in the "rest" of the USA. I can promise you that those of us who live in the "rest" of the USA are, indeed,"considerate and respectful of others".
Clearly, your last sentence is a sweeping generalization. A close friend who was wearing a mask at the supermarket in a southern state was approached by a maskless man who said to him in a belligerent tone 'you must be a Democrat to be wearing a mask'. Another friend who lives outside of St. Louis tells of a similar story. There are a lot of stupid, belligerent people out there. The local news reported that in that bastion of Republicanism (think Trump retweets of the rally that included someone shouting 'white power', one man in his 70s started punching a man on the sidelines holding an 'anything but Trump' placard; and, at one point, called him a liberal **** for wearing a mask!!

Rachel Maddow reminds that 2020 is a Leap Year and today, July 2nd, we are at the halfway mark of the year. One more half year to go till 2021.
It's been quite a half year.

Is anyone else experiencing Zoom/Microsoft Teams/Google Meets fatigue? I don't even bother turning on my video anymore...I just put up a selfie and call it a day...oh and I also self mute myself...so I can listen to music as opposed to hearing all the blah, blah, blah, that goes on at some of these meetings that make me want to slam my MacBook against the wall...LOL

We must live in different neighborhoods, as I certainly can’t say most New Yorkers are wearing masks when I go out.

How is that and where do you live...we live in the Hudson Square area -Tribeca/Soho. Whole Foods requires masks as does CVS and the other pharmacies and markets in our hood.I see masks on everybody most of the time and on top of that...Our condo building requires masks when you enter, common areas, elevators etc...My job and to enter the building-masks must be worn on elevators-4 to a cab only and monitored, office desk space and common areas-luckily I'm working remotely 4 days a week (no mask on at home
and you have to wear on the train. Being at home seems to be the only place that I'm not wearing a mask. It's exhausting and really hot now in the city having to wear a mask!
How's everyone else coping with mask wearing everywhere: at work, shoppping, dining-NYC only has outdoor dining...?
