Why was she inducted into the Broadway Hall of Fame? Does everyone who stars in a show get inducted?
I'm so confused as to why she was chosen to be in the Hall of Fame!! Has she done some amazing work on Broadway that I don't know about?
I think although CHARITY is her Bway debut, her spot on the wall of fame is well-deserved. I mean what she did to bring this show to Broadway is truly astounding, and once it came, she defied all odds and delivered a really wonderful performance in a production that turned out to be the biggest and best surprise on Broadway in years.

I knew someone was going to post this, I was waiting.
I think Rocks said it all - she wouldn't give up, she got the show back, and saved the jobs of SO many talented performers.
Agreed, wicked.

Very much like that other Broadway Legend Joe Brooks! When will HE get inducted?
Wall of fame.. WALL
Yes, exactly, Craig.
The Theatre HALL of Fame is at the Gershwin Theatre, and is usually reserved for theatre luminaries after a lifetime of achievement. The Theatre WALL of Fame is a series of portraits of stars at the restaurant Tony Di Napoli's.

Sardi's it ain't.
Jose. While that may be true - Who does have Sardi's history? Tony's does do an amazing amount for the Broadway community - donating their time and food to such wonderful events like the Broadway Flea Market and several others.

Their efforts and generousity are well-intentioned and much appreciated, I have no doubt.
Their choice of inductees to this wall, and the reason(s) behind those choices, leave much to the imagination.

Do you guys think this is an earned honor? It is like a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.. it is an honor that is paid for by the star or the producer to create publicity.

it is not paid for by the celeb at all. The restaurant and artist select the inductee. And it's always someone currently on the boards.
She is amazing on that stage. I had the amazing oppurtunity to see her and she is great!
She's a hard worker and actually cares about the show and Broadway in general.
IMO, Sweet Charity should be doing much better than its doing.
At first people felt "Broadway is all musicals."
Now, if you don't paint your leading lady green and have her scream while flying, or have people wear masks above their heads, you'll flop. Right now people favor sparkle of intelligence. We need more Sunday and Sweeney-esque shows.

If hard-work, and motivation, alone were the criteria for being inducted on Broadway walls of fame, there wouldn't be enough walls to house the portaits of the thousands of deserving individuals who have earned their place of honor over the decades.
A life in the theatre is all about hard work, motivation and drive. One needs those at a minimum.
Moss Hart said, "Never get tired."
I saw Christina in Sweet Charity and was pleasantly surprised by her performance; she seemed to be having a lot of fun...plus she saved the show. It seems like the role of Charity is one that Christina can relate to, and obviously one that she was willing to work a ton for.
Come on, the girl danced on a broken foot. I know other actors have sacrificed a lot more for the sake of Broadway, but in an age of divas, I'm pretty impressed.
For those of you who are questioning Christina's induction, to be brutally honest, what did you expect?
Christina really deserves this. Her performance in the show is so warm, and full of love. You can see that she is passionate about it, and she went through a lot to get the show here. I thoroughly enjoyed the show, and her outstanding performance, and think it's great that she's been recognized for giving something worthwhile to broadway.

Oh, the WALL of Fame! Thanks, Craig! That makes a big difference. I wasn't trying to be a smart aleck I just could not for the life of me figure out how she had gotten into the Hall of Fame! The wall of fame I have no problem with, she can be on that.
They were expecting Gwen Verdon.
However, she was unavailable.
Well, Antonio Banderas was also making his Broadway debut when he was inducted into the Wall of Fame at Tony's.
