Just for the heck of it, I went to the show's website and couldn't find any mention of what has happened. There are people saying that this thread should end. I have to laugh because I have seen it posted time and time again that if people want to discuss certain things about this show, they should stick to one thread. I have not seen another one yet but I agree if you don't want to read about it, don't click on the thread! And for those of you who want this thread to end....turn your computer off for the next few days because I am sure the boards are gonna be hot after today's performance!! I agree that some people can get a little too dramatic, but this is a place to discuss events and your thoughts on what's going on in the theatre. JMHO Have a good day all. I am sure I will be back later this evening to read all the posts about today's show!

papa, it really isn't funny anymore.

And again we go with Idina making the performance is SO importnat - why not ask questions to find out her condition....?

As much as she wants to make it to the performance, I am sure she would rather get better. If she damaged, in any way, a rib, she will NOT be performing (that's a fact).

However ignorant 442namffug is, its true that she probably won't perform, but that she will be there for the curtain call & party.

She has bruised ribs (at least that is what my friend was told, who has been right about everything thus far).

All I have to say (again):

This incident shed light on who is a real Idina fan (those who hope she recovers quickly and gets on with her post-Wicked life) and who is a selfish little teeny-bopper (and wants her to perform today...no matter her condition)...

BSoBW2,

Oh please! Half of her fans aren't mature enough to even *think* if she is OK or not, they just want to see her perform! There is no need to bash anyone on their level of devotion on being a Idina/Wicked fan.

(And I am not saying this offensively, I say it matter-of-factly. Half of her fans are young teens.)

Who's the ignorant one now Capn?!? hahha..i was right all along and continue to be right. And the only reason I laugh at you is probably because you are probably an overweight, acne prone child who has very little of what normal people call a "life". hehe. namffug is right again!

I can't keep up with your state of mind, WHAT are you talking about?

Well, to paraphrase one the BWW gods:

It's a slippery slope when someone on a Broadway message board accuses someone else on a Broadway message board of having no life.

And 442namffug: Wow. You're a real jerk, aren't you?

no, Capn - I'm just saying a real fan would rather see her be OK...but true, most of her fans (fan's) are so immature that they wouldn't even think about her health...

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

okay, im kind of offended.....I'm a 16 year old musical theatre and idina fan. The first thing I thought when I heard she was hurt was that I hoped she was okay and it wasn't anything serious. The thought didn't even cross my mind that she should perform just because her fans would want her to....Her health comes first....and please don't stereotype teenagers into one category..

It's so dreadful.

It just reinforces, in a strange way, my love of live theatre; anything can--and usually will--happen, completely unexpectedly. Luckily for everyone who witnessed it, and of course ms. menzel herself, that it wasn't worse than bruising the ribs.

The timing, as we all know, is terribly tragic; having to leave the show the day before your last performance--it's awful and I'm sure everyone feels horribly. Imagine being in Shoshana's shoes right now; all these people that paid money to see Idina and now they don't get to.

But, like I said before, it's the peril that comes along with live theatre.

Anyhow, that's my little bit about it. Thanks for the video clip, tiny-toon.

Hope she gets well, soon. Hope Shoshana kicks major butt. (I'll be seeing her March 8th.)

Happy posting! :-P And don't let lame little children get yer knickers in a twist...They're so not worth the effort it takes to even read their ignorant, uninformed, ridiculously juvenile posts in the first place. Has it officially been announced?

TheatreDiva, I was referring to about 14 and under. "Young teens."

Although it may not be true for yourself, it IS for others, yes, even at 16. But mostly, its the younger ones. But they shouldn't be expected to be concerned about her health - they are innocent.

My point was to stop the criticizing! "I'm a bigger Idina fan than you are!" "You're not a TRUE Idina fan!" Enough. That's just childish.

umm, papa, the fact that you are joking about it is...ugh, n/m, it's not even worth it....

and capn - I never said anything about ""I'm a bigger Idina fan than you are!" "You're not a TRUE Idina fan!"" Perhaps it came out wrong, but I meant that people who actually care about her vs. those who DEMAND she perform...

P.S. Unfortunately, the BS stands for something else....

HAHA, what a kick!

OK, chikadees, whilst you bicker, I am off to see Hunter leave the producers....

(I know - bestill thine heart - Idina isn't the only actress leaving a show today)

P.S. Go see Joey leave if you were lucky enough to score a ticket to Idina's last performance today!

BSoBW2,

Firstly, don't mind papa. He jokes about anything and everything and we love him for it! (Those who have been around know not to take most things he says seriously). Its to be expected, and again, we ruv him for it!

Secondly, although that IS how your reply came across, I was referring to the general group (I wasn't directly quoting anyone).
