I think Allison Janney would be great for "Woman of the Year", but we've already seen her do her "One of the Boys" number in "9 to 5".

I would love it if Encores did DROOD. Heidi Blickenstaff would be perfect as Drood, and there are a host of interesting casting ideas for the rest of the roles.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Pippin would be another good one. I wouldn't mind them doing Woman in White either, though...

Are there any rumors as to what the next Summer Stars production will be?
They announced THE WIZ at the end of February last year, so one can assume the show's already been chosen.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Fiorello! was the first Encores show.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

Encores is subtitled Great American Musicals in Concert, so I wouldn't expect them to be tackling Evita at any point.

So no Starlight Express then
How about Candide? Or has it been attempted/butchered far too many times already?

somethingwicked, I think they'll be announcing it soonish.
This is pure speculation on my part, but at her interview at the 92nd Street Y on Thursday, Patti LuPone mentioned that there have been talks for her to do Hello, Dolly! Now, this could be either someone saying "Hey, you should do Dolly" or a discussion about something like Summer Stars.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

^ That really needs to happen (Dolly & LuPone). I will be ecstatic if it is this year's Summer Stars!

I still have my heart set on The Music Man starring David Hyde Pierce. But, meh, that LuPone lady's ok.
