hm.....probably kerry butler on the hairspray cast recording.
Thats easy for me Adam Pascal in Rent (keep him in Aida I thought he did a much better job there) but in rent he was off key and drove me crazy (as you can tell from my post on another thread as well)
Kerry Butler on "LSOH"...the phony accent drove me nuts!
Um...........I would have to say...........Michael Crawford in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. He is too nasally and drives me up the wall, even though it is my 2nd favorite cast recording. In fact, let's just do an overhaul of everyone in the cast except Raul and Meg.

Tyne Daly - GYPSY
Girl, are we gonna start this again?
Matt - YOU GOT SERVED
The Frances Rufelle on the Les Miserables OBCR. Everytime I hear her I'm like KILL ME NOW.

oh i agree with mnil. i can't stand frances as eponine.
I agree on Frances Ruffelle too.
I would axe Sarah Brightman in POTO. Talk about nasal...
Dean Jones on the COMPANY OBCR
Not really a "Cast recording" - I guess...
John Savage on HAIR Motion Picture Soundtrack, an absolutely wonderful album except a somewhat lackluster Claude.

Wasn't Dean Jones replaced by Larry Kert (West Side Story) shortly after the show opened? did anyone hear/see him? was he better?
On the reissued COMPANY OBCR it has Larry Kert's 'Being Alive'. It is better than Jones, but only slightly.
Jones left because of his own martial problems with his wife. And the strain was too much. He made a deal with Hal Prince before opening that he would do the rcording and a few shows then be gone. And Kert became the only replacement in B'way history to get the Tony nod.

I would replace the nasal yodeling of Jodi Benson on CRAZY FOR YOU with her Broadway replacement (pictured, left).

Michele Hooper on "Romeo and Juliet: the Musical". God her voice is annoying...
And Eric Baranyanka on "Romeo en Julia: van Haat tot Liefde". He doesn't even sound like he's singing.
