Diane Wiest for Best Leading Actress in a Play
[title of show] for best score
Tovah Feldshuh for Best Actress In A Play for her amazing performance in Irena's Vow.
"N2N" winning (Score and Musical)
Alice Ripley- (PLEASE !!!)
"Joe Turner..." Winning
Roger Robinson winning
A Tale of Two Cities - Best Lighting!
Something for ATOTC atleast, whether it be for James Barbour, some aspect of the design team, or Featured Actress *nomination* for Natalie Toro!
Also add: Next to Normal for Best Musical!
I couldn't pick just one, but narrowed down to two:
Will Swenson for Actor in a Featured Role (Musical) - I've seen several productions of Hair, and always found Berger to be nothing more than an annoyance and an asshole, but for the first time, I finally cared about the relationships he has with Claude and Sheila.
Joe Turner's Come and Gone for Revival of a Play - I had never seen or read anything by August Wilson, and going into the play, I was almost preparing to leave at intermission. But it sucked me in, and even now, it stands out as the most I've enjoyed any play this season.
Kristin Scott Thomas, Best Actress, The Seagull.
The very first thing that came to my mind was Tovah Feldshuh for Leading Actress in a Play.
Best Lighting or Set to A Tale of Two Cities.
Best Revival/Play to Norman Conquests.
Further, I would make them announce the winner of Best Revival of a Play ON the actual telecast.
I agree re the Best Revival of a Play announcement, especially considering the plethora of magnificent contenders this season.
Also, Best Book and Best Choreography on the telecast.
The fact that those three categories were left off last year was awful.
I agree. I suspect they had been wanting to do that with the Best Book category for a while, I remember in one of the recent ceremonies Megan Mullally presented the category and they wrote this stupid joke for her saying something like "yeah, now I have to present the very important Best Book category" with a sarcastic Mullally-esque tone. It seemed like a slap in the face to the bookwriters.
It's a dead tiel
next to normal best musical
Alice Ripley best actress in a musical
Can't decide on one. Sorry.
I'm gonna agree with Wanna Be on Dianne Wiest for Leading Actress in a Play. I thought about it and I think I choose Wiest over Scott Thomas.
Featured Actress in a Play - Carey Mulligan, THE SEAGULL
Director (Musical) - Diane Paulus, HAIR

I guess what is important for me is that
Next to Normal wins for Best Original Musical
and
Title of Show wins for Book
That would make me happy....the other stuff I have numerous hopes but these two happening would make me quite content
I'm going Next to Normal for best musical, because even with great reviews I think it will take a while for this show to catch a broader audience...but with a Tony it would have the time.
It deserves to have a long mainstreem run!
I definitely agree about showing best book, choreography, and especially revival on the actually telecast.
Alice Ripley winning for best actress in a musical.
Anything else will sort of be a moot point for me if that doesn't happen.
Brian D'Arcy James for Best Actor in a Musical. I love him and all of his work past and present. Is shrek the best musical ever? Absolutly not. But he does give a great performance, in a rather phyiscally demanding role. I think he should be awarded based on his current performance, work ethic and that he does 8 shows a week. Yes I am one of those people that don't think the boys in Billy Elliot deserve the award.
Title of Show for Best Book because I think it does deserve some recognition and I will be honest while I adore TOS the score is not better than others this year. N2N has score but TOS should get book. That my two cents.
My Picks
Musical: 9 to 5
Revival: WSS
Actress: Alison Janey
Featured Actor: Christopher Seiber, Shrek
Play: God of Carnage
Revival of a Play: Blithe Spirit
Actress: (TIE) Jayne Atkinson and Dianne Wiest
Featured Actress: Angela!
Also if I could go back in time I would chance 1998 best musical to Ragtime, and
Featured Actor Joined: 7/12/07
James Barbour-Tale of Two Cities... If not nominated... Brian D'arcy James-Shrek
