Not shocked at all, but best of luck to the cast and crew who had nothing but good intentions with this show

Woah! Didn't 'Desperately Seeking Susan' also last this long at the exact same time last year? Sounds like a Christmas curse or something...

Wonder what's next for the New London...
Everything in life...is only for now.

Somebody at WOS suggested War Horse.

The New London seems to be cursed...
Only one musical can play there.. Cats..
and any other musical that attempts to sell is exterminated (not the correct word to use but hey!)

..Bring Cats back.... :)

Thank god, I didn't think this would last, and I'm glad it wont, as this now frees up a perfectly good theatre, I just dont get why they dont understand, this is a modern theatre, put a modern show in it, so at least it's keeping in theme!

re: 'Imagine This' No More

incidentally how long did GWTW run for?

re: 'Imagine This' No More

GWTW ran for about 80 performances.

re: 'Imagine This' No More

Is there/Will there be a CD anyone?
Tis quite sad as it was at least original (I haven't seen it but did have it down for my next London trip on that basis alone)

re: 'Imagine This' No More

I have read there will be a CD. Hell, if you go to the website, you get inundated with music, and it's by no means terrible.

I wanted to catch this one on the grounds of it being an original musical as well. Shame it's going so soon.

'King Lear' went down well. Let's just give the New London to the RSC. They'll never see success if they keep sticking subpar musicals in there.

Disappointed but not surprised. It was a brave attempt at something original and only let down by the book and lyrics.

It was much, much better than Gone With The Wind and deserved a better fate.

The tracks on the website were originally of the concept recording but have now been changed to the London cast - it's definitely Peter P and the London orchestrations, and one of the new songs written for the London production is on there as well - so I assume it has been recorded, but whether it will be released I don't know.

It gives me great joy to think that only Cats can survive in a theatre that reminds me of a car park.

Gutted for the cast of Imagine This, who put on wonderful performances. Weez, there is great music in this show - not of the same ilk as Marguerite but great in a different way. Some serious schmaltz in the book, which was equally terrible as Marguerite (in that Greek tragedy way, of awe-inspiring as well as cringe-worthy). I have some hope Imagine This will re-appear after a [long?] respite to tinker around with the book and wait for the recession to pass (one of the bigger stumbling blocks to the production).

Kudos to the cast, who did a fabulous job with incredibly difficult themes.

re: 'Imagine This' No More

What are the chances of the cast recording being released?
I think it would be quite nice to have another recording, apart from the concept recording.

Although ... Simon Gleeson was really terrible but Leila Benn Harris and P Poly weren't half bad - would be nice to have a version of Imagine This with them singing it.

re: 'Imagine This' No More

keithp - GWTW played more shows so Imagine This has won as the shortest run.

re: 'Imagine This' No More

My fact checker has been slaughtered OK- it was info given to me by someone on the telephone and I put it on her without double checking. I NEVER post on here unless I double check info.
Now your wrong regarding 'Gone With The Wind' so what are you gonna say about that then???
#24

re: 'Imagine This' No More

Ok I get it - beaten as in shortest run as opposed to beaten by having more performances.
It was late when I read it!

re: 'Imagine This' No More

You just sounded really quik to try and catch people out, as you did with the Desire thread. Its the kind of thing the Broadway board thrives on but it doesn't happen on here hardly ever!
I wasn't posting the info either way regarding number of performances or shortest run.
'Gone With The Wind' played 79 perfs at the New London in roughly an 8 week period.
