Looks worse than the original production. I really think the only way it will work is in a Masquerade format but in a warehouse in the Meatpacking districted or similar.

Premier of the reworked American psycho musical at Houston Broadway Theater. its giving my strongest suit. Like the guitar in the orchestration don’t like the shopping cart"
Is this meant to evoke the feeling of being knocked out on quaaludes?

Is it a revival or a remount? Rupert Goold is directing again."
It's a remount.
"
It says Jan 24, 2026 through Mar 14, 2026. I’d like to see who is in it. I loved the Broadway production
I’ve been following the Texas production (kills me I can’t see it) and I know there’s been a lot of changes made to this version, from the Broadway one. I’m curious to know if those changes will be implemented in London next year, also.
This number is one of the only songs in the show that nails the sardonic psychedelic tone of the characters and story.

Most likely yes.
A musical version of American Psycho will return to the Almeida Theatre, as part of artistic director Rupert Goold's final season at the venue.
Speaking about the announcement, Goold (the original and new UK version) said: “I will be revisiting my production of American Psycho, the show with which I launched my tenure back in 2013 – partly to explore what may have changed since then."
The writers know it's happening - they are using the short Houston run to o re-work the material as a starting point for the new Goold version. There is talk of a transfer possible West End/Broadway transfer with Goold's newest version. New designers on board.

This is a completely different production in Houston.
This Houston production is supposedly being worked on by the writers.

Bob Lenzi sounds good. Not a fan of the other voices.

The Houston production is where they’re testing out the reworked material, as mentioned in the article about Rupert Goold’s London remount, which is why the trailer was posted.
If that’s suppose to be entice me to get a ticket…. Ouch. And I loved the original. Love a weird musical.
It’s a 12-day run in Houston, TX that ends in 3 days. I don’t think they’re trying to entice anyone outside Houston to buy tickets.
Interesting, the original actress who was cast as Jean was suddenly replaced during rehearsals.
Any details on the changes?
I don’t remember anything dealing with Trump in the original production (so maybe this isn’t new but a friend who saw it wrote me that -
“… theres a whole plot line where he's trying to get a copy of trumps book then jean gives him a signed copy for xmas. Then Patrick runs into trump (ensemble member in a wig doing an impression) in an elevator and they have a chat. Then during the "I Am Back" dream sequence he stabs everyone, ending with trump”

Apologies, I thought this thread was about the immersive one exclusively. Lost track that folks were talking about Gould and Almeida.

There’s nothing about Patrick wanting Trump’s book, or meeting Trump, in the original Ellis novel or the movie, or in the Broadway adaptation, so all this must have been added. Guess they couldn’t help themselves with the stabbing thing. I wonder how that’s going over in Texas!

In a wild coincidence, I just read the book for the first time (it's been a week and I still haven't showered enough to feel clean again), and the scene in the elevator sounds a lot like a scene where Patrick's in the elevator with Tom Cruise, who lives in the penthouse of his building.
Trump is mentioned a lot, however, at least a dozen times over the course of the book.
Patrick is obsessed with Trump in the novel. While it’s true that he never meets him in the novel or the movie, it’s not surprising that they’d want to visually reference him in an updated version of the musical. Can’t get a more explicit indictment of Patrick’s character than his worship of our Forever Clown King.

It was shockingly prescient how much Trump is mentioned in the book. I know that in the 80s, Trump was the poster child of conspicuous consumption and New York yuppie society, but even then, it's surprising.
