Those clips re-affirmed for me that the feel of Ellis' book is just too icy a deadpan for musical adaptation.
"and the upcoming Luca Guadagnino adaptation"
This is the first I've heard of this. Why try to recreate perfection?
The cast looks okay in Houston, if not typical and copies of Bway, but the production screams a little uncreative in underwear. The set reminds us of Tammy Faye: The Musical. Houston press is notably kind, so even if it isn't great, the press will like it. Hard to gauge.
Excited to see the London production with the new material in place - directed by Goold.

Per Deadline.
There’s been no update on that remake for a long time now and I believe it was never “officially” greenlit just talks about wanting to do it, with a script that I think Guadagnino said he liked.

From this article:
"A newly added scene featuring Donald Trump in an elevator drew big laughs."
I guess this replaces the brief Tom Cruise cameo.
The Trump bit was posted on the theater’s socials.

Wow. Just saw their instagram video. That moment goes in the Sutton and Hugh basket for me, totally against the integrity of the piece and contrary to the all-knowing persona of Patrick Bateman, all for a cheap laugh.
I can't seem to shake this:
It's not rational thinking, I know, but the idea of marrying an "immersive" experience with a show about a psycho killer (irrationally) puts me on edge.
I'm not sure I could force myself to only maintain eye-contact with such attractive men, clad only in their briefs, in such close proximity, either.

Yes. This must be the things the Houston director pushed for. Not in good taste. They will drop it come London.
Also the Houston Chronicle likes most shows.
The audience ate it up!!!
