Anyone else surprised that there is no merchandise attached to this movie? I would have thought they would have at least a limited edition line or something.

Well we know Frozen merchandise is everywhere. Also, Target currently has young girls clothing line inspired by the new ANNIE film. But I don't really see WOODS merchandise being too popular.

Well, there's the soundtrack, which is currently at #5 in general music sales rank on Amazon. That's great, and shows that people are loving the music.
Not sure what else they could sell, though. Maybe Prince dolls with self-ripping shirt action? :)

I agree about the merch; I wish there was some. Not even logo tees; AGONY lyrics on a t-shirt would be great.

I doubt they would make a profit selling toys and shirts. Why would a kid want to buy a doll of Cinderella's prince or Rapunzel when they can just buy the Disney versions of them?

Children's movies and action movies get merchandising. Any other merchandising that I can think of happens well after a film becomes pop culture. (I'm thinking Princess Bride, The Godfather.)

I'm sure they could turn a bit of a profit off of merchandise if they sold T-shirts or wallets or something at stores like Hot Topic. Teenagers love that stuff.

^That's what I was thinking. General merchandise that people can wear/use and doesn't necessarily have to be from the Disney Store. Although I was hoping for a doll or two, they'd be gorgeous if the sculpt fit to the actor(s) and costumes matched the film.

This would pretty much be a perfect movie and a perfect adaptation of the original show if it were 15 minutes longer. Ever After sung during the wedding scene and then fade almost to black and start "Act Two Prologue" ("Once upon a time, later..."). That includes the amazing exchange between The Witch and The Bakers ("A giant's just like us, only bigger: Much much bigger. Sooo big" - I'd kill to hear Meryl say that and it would give her even something more to do as the post-transformation Witch.
And besides thay we wouldn't lose lyrics such as:
"To be happy and forever
You must see your wish come true
Don't be careful, don't be clever
When you see your wish, pursue"
"Into the woods where nothing's clear
Where witches, ghosts and wolves appear
Into the woods and through the fear
You have to take the journey"
"Into the woods, into the woods
Into the woods, then out of the woods
And happy ever after"
And from the Act Two prologue:
"Wishes may bring problems,
Such that you regret them."
"Into the woods,
It's always when
You think at last
You're through, and then
Into the woods you go again
To take another journey"
Oh... if only Disney allowed 15 more minutes.

Oh and I wish some of the original cast could've played some roles here, like:
Kim Crosby (Cinderella) - a perfect Cinderella's Mother
Chip Zien (Baker) - he could've easily played the Baker's Father in that short scene
Joanna Gleason (Baker's Wife) - just think what a perfect Giantess she'd make!
Merle Louise (Cinderella's Mother, Granny and Giantess) - she could reprise the role of Granny, as it is a lot shorter
Bernadette Peters (Witch) - I loved, loved, loooooved Christine Baranski. But imagine Bernadette as Cinderellas stepmother? She'd nail the comedy as easily as Baranski and it would be a wonderful treat.

I'm hoping for a director's cut...which most likely doesn't exist.
It would have been awesome if they released a longer version for those that liked the Broadway one and then a shorter one for those that don't want to sit that long.
