And I have two wolves here because both princes have sexual appitites.
Bwahahaa, I literally can't stop laughing!
Audra McDonald (she is going places)
This must be read in the voice of an old-time Hollywood agent.
I also love how the "dream cast" has to first prove themselves talented and successful
How about Goldie Hawn, Robin Williams, Cher, Mayim Bialik, Brenden Fraser... oh, wait, nevermind.
"Rainbows" written for the film may be my favorite song from this score now and I really would like this happen. Steve recently said that he is in negotiations to make this and a FOLLIES film finally happen only a week or two ago, so this time it may get past pre-production.
Though, if Penny Marshall couldn't get it going with THAT cast it's gonna be an uphill battle.
Get rid of that Babaloo Mandel script though, its not where it needs to be.
IF it gets made get ready to lose A LOT (I mean NINE-level loss) of the score and a bunch of new songs (many already written). That's what Steve wanted to do then and I'm sure he will be happy to cut out a lot of the weaker material ("Our Little World" and "It Takes Two", I'm talkin' to you!) and be as involved as he was with SWEENEY. If it is HALF as good as SWEENEY and true to the spirit of the show I'll be happy.

Ya think?!!!
Pgenre, I hadn't heard about an ITW film actually gaining momentum, where did he say this (a week ago)?
The sexual "appitites": Nick Adams and Arthur Laurents in a thong *rawr*

And I don't think its a coincidence that the film demo has recently leaked after 15 years with all the new songs.

I'm blind now, blaxx. Thanks.
Kelli O'Donnell for Red Riding Hood
Julie Murney for The Wolf
Rosie O'Donnell for the angry lesbian who can't sing
Rosie could play the Giant. Then they'd be able to put her on screen!
I hear she's going places. And by places I mean glbt cruises.
The one thought I've always had about a film version of ITW is to NOT double roles the way they are onstage. That convention works better in the play, and opens up new casting possibilities. I could certainly buy Steve Martin or Tim Curry as the Wolf, but not a prince.
The Mysterious Man being the Narrator is a very stagey convention as well. I'd rather have a recognizable but appropriate Mysterious Man and a famous voice-over as the Narrator... to build to a big reveal when the Giant reaches through the screen (face it, there will be 3-D) to pull the Narrator, kicking and screaming, over our heads.
Actually that would be a cool effect, pulling the narrator into the book to feed to the giant.

Am I the only one who would have loved to see the movie had that cast (Robin Williams, Cher, etc.) taken part?
Jim Dale needs to voice the Narrator.
