My junior year in high school I was on a UN Study tour and we saw the Wednesday matinee of Starlight Express and the evening performance of Les Miserables. Other than having time warp whiplash, none of us had any problem with two in a day. We were actually wishing we had one every night rather than a Sunday night of A Chorus Line, the Wednesday double dose, and Friday evening in the Village followed by The Fantastiks with an after-chat.

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
I love watching 2 shows in one day, especially when visiting nyc. Basically after the matinee, I go out to dinner, take a nice walk, then right to the next theatre. It's always a great day when seeing 2 shows.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
Definitely not too much. I live outside NYC so I do 2 show Saturdays whenever I'm able. I get to the city early in the morning and have breakfast, walk around and enjoy the city, see a matinee performance, have something light to eat and enjoy the city some more. Then I see a night performance, have a late dinner and cruise back to Albany in the wee hours of Sunday morning to recover and get ready for work on Monday. It's the best for me and a great way to spend a day!
When I was your daughter's age I would often see a matinee and evening show on Saturdays. Before the matinee I might see the latest Cinerama film, and inbetween the matinee and evening show, I would catch a show at either the Capitol or Loew's State...seeing a film and a personal appearance by someone like Ethel Waters or Juanita Hall or Dinah Shore, with supporting acts. All this and I never got tired and I *think* I turned out all right
Two shows in one day is nothing. During last years NYMF, I saw at least two in a day 4 times in a week. I also saw three in a day twice, and four in a day during that strech (20 total in 7 days).
I agree with sunflower12063, see all you can. You won't be sorry.
