Is DOLLY's Jennifer Simard in Act 1?

I've been meaning to ask...

Is Jen Simard (Ernistina Money) in Act 1? I know her character isn't, but is she in the chorus of Sunday Clothes? Seth Rudetsky says she's the one who hits the high C at the end on the cast recording. Does she spend Act 1 singing off stage?

Yes, she's in the ensemble during the entire show (Act 1 & 2) except when she's Ernestina which is why she sadly has to take her curtain call bow in her ensemble costume and not in her Ernestina costume so the audience doesn't recognize her as they're applauding.

That's so true, BrodyFosse123! I've seen it several times and it always takes a second to recognize her in the curtain call. She's with Rudolf so I guess you're suppose to put that together that that's her in the coupling but her hand would be much bigger if she was in her yellow number!

The three times I've seen the show it was clear that most of the audience did not recognize her in the curtain call. She looks very ordinary. She needs to whip out a feather boa, she'd get howls.

Right! A boa or that YELLOW dress! Every time I've seen the show, the audience loves her turn as Ernestina. Right from her "song" entrance thru the scenes in the restaurant, they are howling with laughter. So it always puzzled me that her curtain call is received with such luke warm applause. I'm almost certain it's because of her costume in the curtain call. We've never seen this non descript dress on her as a solo performer. It's too bad, really.

I noticed Jennifer in the opening number, and Sunday Clothes. I don't think she's in Before the Parade Passes By. I could have sworn she had a boa (not yellow) during the bows.

I haven't seen this version yet, but does she have to be in her ensemble costume at bows? From what I collect, the finale medley present in other versions isn't in this production (I may be wrong),meaning the ensemble isn't on stage at the very end, correct?
