im slightly amazed by how many pointless articles this site shows every day about Hamilton.. It's ridiculous.
Are they being paid to mention it every 3 seconds? Talk about overkill.
It's called audience engagement.
it is a For Profit site.
Would you rather articles about Nerds?
They write about what people want to read about. Eyeballs = $$
If you put HAMILTON into everything, it probably does wonders for your SEO. Just ask Playbill.
it's the most newsworthy, attention-getting show in years. Why wouldn't they discuss it?
And it's a bit ironic you added a new thread about Hamilton which you say is getting too much attention on this very site.
Don't you think?

Oh yeah, it's like, totally ironic.
i was just interested that's all. It's making this website a bit tedious to look at these days.
Just wait until the week before the Tonys when we get the daily Lin-Manuel sneeze report.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming interviews with neighbours of people in the cast and a blog of the guy who does the road sweeping outside.

I honestly don't understand why Hamilton even pays for advertising. They have all these bus ads and building posters that are just unnecessary, since the show is COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. Also, who is buying these tickets for next year? The original cast will most likely not be in it then, and it could very well end up like the Producers, which didn't do well after Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick left.

I bought tickets for October last November. So I'm sure lots of people are buying them a year in advance. As for the original cast being gone, I doubt it matters. This show has made them stars. Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick were huge stars when they were in the Producers, and it made them bigger stars. And hey, that show ran for 6 years so I don't know how you can consider that not doing well.
Hey, Coke and Pepsi still advertise.
For a while it seemed like every new article on Broadway World was about Bette Midler or Hello Dolly but now they're back to Hamilton. It's nothing to get worked up about.

While, from all accounts, the OBC of HAMILTON is amazing, I think the show is certainly strong enough to enjoy a healthy run long after the OBC departs. Some shows are bigger than their casts. This is one of them.
None of the OBC are as big as Matthew Broderick or Nathan Lane. And it's a far better show.
As for advertising, believe it or not there are people who aren't obsessed and *gasp* may not have even heard of HAMILTON.

Just an observation that's all.
I LOVED the show when I saw it.. But surely people will get bored of the endless articles about it quite soon at this rate. Or I may be wrong.
I'm sure that BWW is getting clicks from it, or otherwise they wouldn't bother posting the articles. It's the hottest show in years, of course people are interested.
I admit, I often roll my eyes at some of the headlines....so I don't open the articles. Just because they exist doesn't mean you have to read them. Kind of like all the stupid articles people on my feed post....when it's stupid, I scroll on by.
I just wish I could avoid (most of) the headlines all together. I can choose not to click and read, but avoiding the actual headlines is not quite as easy.

I like everything on this site, and Hamilton would seem to be deserving of being widely promoted as it clearly of great interest to many here. My only question is how much of the interest is natural and deserving and how much of it has been manufactured.

The ladies room attendant is actually really cool. I chat with her everytime I've gone. I know for a fact that she's got some good celebrity stories.

I think you could ask the same of any hugely popular thing. Word of mouth happens, media outlets start to realize that something is good/successful, they report on it for views and people who didn't know about it initially become interested. I think one thing to say about Hamilton's success is that it didn't have a built-in audience particularly. There are many fans of musicals, of history, of hip-hop but all three combined? Not so much. You look at Book of Mormon which had the South Park connection, Rent had the tragedy of Jonathan Larson's death etc. That's not to say these aren't great musicals that don't deserve their success, but it's especially impressive to me that Hamilton has managed to become what it is over what seems like word of mouth (and the media coverage that has followed) alone.

It seems like it.
How else can a show with not 1 beautiful solo number, just a bunch of noisy people screaming and rapping be popular?

Sorry to go off topic, but if I'm remembering right, you're the poster in the Pittsburgh area, yes? Do you remember what time of year the Pittsburgh Broadway Across America series gets announced? Thanks.
