Broadway.com has some footage from a press preview of "It Shoulda Been You". The song they have posted with Tyne Daly, et. la, seems to be a amateur attempt at a Sondheim song. Anyone else see the videos, and have an option?
I also checked tickets for the first few previews, and it doesn't look to full. I hope it picks up, because I love Tyne Daly!

Based on the posted videos, I worry for this show. It has an incredible cast and crew assembled... but the material we've seen so far is very community theater. I hope the good stuff is still to come!
I found those numbers to be dreadfully boring. Even if that turns out to be an accurate representation of the quality of the writing, it'll still be a treat to see that magnificent cast.
I did at least find Sierra Boggess the only memorable part of the preview.
Did anyone see this show in NJ in 2011? Hopefully it has been completely rewritten and revamped, because it was a long, boring, totally cliched show with no redeeming qualities except the cast, and even Tyne Daly and Harriet Harris could not save it. It's sad when a show like this comes pre-sold because of the names involved, and ON THE TOWN, DISGRACED and last year's BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY have gone begging for audiences.

It's not pre-sold. No one wants to see this show. It got bad reviews in Jersey. Unless it's a totally new show (it's not), it won't last.
It sounds like a fake Sondheim song.
I'm a fan of a lot of the cast members but I keep forgetting this show is a thing. I feel like it's just going to get lost in the shuffle of the rest of the upcoming shows.

A) As has been noted, it's not "pre-sold," it's merely being produced (just like the other shows you mention were produced).
B) Disgraced has had a perfectly decent run for a straight play with no stars.
C) It's nice that you love On The Town and Bridges; clearly there are many who didn't like them as much as you do. It's always advisable to reconcile oneself with that reality. In the long run, none of us are really injured by the failure of the entertainment we enjoy.
I see so many ads for this show!! They're definitely doing the work and getting the word out. I think this show is gonna be like Xanadu; the little show that could

My agent friend did and had a client in it and his comment was community-dinner theater at best and why and hell is it moving to Broadway in such a busy season as it will get lost by all the major big and better shows coming in. He says no way will it last. Just saying...
Xanadu was based off of a cult film, had a recognizable song catalog, and one of the funniest and sharpest musical comedy books in recent memory. How is this anything like Xanadu?
Because: phillypinto.
This show is not "Xanadu."
Agreed. XANADU was a lot of in-joke campy fun. ISBY is reminiscent of A FAMILY AFFAIR in 1962, John Kander's first Broadway show, but it hasn't even got that show's musical score.
"How is this anything like xanadu"
The little show that everybody says is gonna be a flop and will close in a week that ends up running and becoming a hit. Did u not read my comment when I clearly said "like xanadu; the little show that could." I never said that the actual shows are similar. They are both 2 small underdog shows. You guys are always so quick to bitch at me. Coming from people who also said Honeymoon in Vegas would be closed right now. You guys are a joke
Bitchin and BWW are synonomous like bacon and eggs - they go together.
I hope you are right. Seriously, this really had a chance had it opened at New World Stages. I wish it luck but it will be an uphill battle. I hope it wins but Broadway being broadway .....

How does Disgraced have NO stars???? Josh Radnor was the star of the hottest sitcom for the past 9 years... I have several friends that went just to see him. My biggest complaint with this show is the generic forgettable title and the "community theatre" looking advertisements and logos... no offense to community theatre... I grew up in community theatre...
I watch very little TV, so I've never heard of Radnor. The definition of "star" means different things to different people, I suppose. Whatever the case, Radnor clearly isn't a "star" like Hugh Jackman, who can sell tickets to anything he's in.

Disgraced won the pulitzer prize! How can it be deemed a failure?
I pray that they change the marquee from that awful white to the blue design shown in this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBOBGHqxz00
yeah, despite the "names" this has, I have no desire to see it. And there's a ton of discounts available for this show, too(50% off).
