Hope you have a great day, After Eight, though I know you'll find something to complain about.

I hope you have a great day too. This news certainly seems to have made yours.
Someone needs to check on Jordan and make sure his head didn't explode.
Why aren't tickets on sale right this second? An immediate must see. Fantasy casting for Dot? Jane Krakowski is obviously at the top of my list but if they go younger, her co-star, Laura Benanti or Renee Elise Goldsberry would both be lovely. Blythe Danner as the Old Lady/Blair and Marin Mazzie as Yvonne...ah, I love this show so much.

Such a good morning!
The Gyllenhaal Little Shop is such a ridiculously wonderful memory of last year for me. In retrospect, there was something so pure in his performance that his return (and hopeful eventual musical on Broadway) is such welcome news.
Cynthia Erivo would be my first choice for Dot. Jason Danieley as Jules and Melissa Errico as Yvonne (would be fun since they've played George and Dot in past productions). Perhaps Linda Emond as The Old Lady/Blair (it is a concert, after all)?

AC -- Cynthia as Dot would be such brilliantly inspired casting. I hope City Center is reading this thread.
I'd love to see Carmen Cusack have the chance to do it in New York.

So delighted and such a deserving score.
Cynthia is inspired casting- fingers crossed!

She was nothing short of amazing in the Chicago Shakes production a few years back.

I'm ok. I've just been trying to coordinate with people on getting tickets for this. It'll be the greatest evening in the history of the theater.
And here's another reason I miss living on the east coast. So jealous of all of you that are going to see this!
I always wanted to see Christiane Noll play Dot. Or Kelli O'Hara.
Oh, and Carmen Cusack as Dot - HELL YES.
I'm not sure when everyone read the NY Times article, but I hope you all know that tickets are on sale tomorrow at noon, not today.
"Correction: May 24, 2016
Because of an editing error, an earlier version of this article misstated the date tickets for the performance go on sale. It is May 25, not May 24."
AHHHHHHHH WHY DON'T I LIVE IN NEW YORK?! This would really be a once-in-a-lifetime event. Can't wait to hear more as it develops. I would also love to see Renee Elise Goldsberry or Cynthia Erivo in the role (though I sure would be happy with Bernadette, too!)

We would have to keep Carmen around until October, which is not a sure thing right now. But yes.

Is she banished from New York if her show closes over the summer?

Just meant that she isn't based here.
Thanks to air travel, where one is based is essentially a nonissue, especially for a one-night event.

Kelli O'Hara was alright in the role, but for Christ's sake don't let her belt never again
