No absences listed on Broadway Direct or Telecharge - also, going by the latter’s map, I’m very surprised how few tickets are sold only a week out. I know most tickets are sold closer to/day of but I thought this show, especially in the last weeks of their star, would be selling at a quicker rate.

Telecharge says Gatsby will be played by an understudy from 1/9 - 1/11.
Where are you seeing it? Maybe it’s different in the app vs mobile site (which I am using). Is it further in the checkout process? I see no casting notice anywhere, even after selecting seats.

On both the app and the website, click on “About the Show.” It should show under the Cast section.
Gatsby rarely announces vacations or absences. I went to see it the week of Halloween and Eva was on vacation that entire week and it was not announced anywhere.

Jordan is nowhere close to being a “Star” outside of this message board.

Got it. Weird placement, as I’ve seen plenty of other shows have these notices listed with the actual performance/ticket options.

Gatsby’s marketing, Telecharge itself (literally says “Jeremy and Eva starring…” before you get to the calendar) and a good number of people not on this board would say otherwise, but solid effort there. Not sure who you would say the “star” of this Gatsby production is, but I also don’t care.
When I saw Gatsby in November I sat beside a young elementary school teacher from Florida for whom it was her first Broadway show ( & first trip to NYC). She was quite excited to be seeing Mr. Jordan & Ms Noblezada in person for the first time. She was literally shaking the whole row out of excitement. Her boyfriend had a work conference to attend & she tagged along since his work was paying for the hotel & providing a daily per diem for meals that they could survive on. We were up in the cheap seats, and when I pulled out my mini-binoculars she was so happy. She had brought a pair but was too embarrassed to take them out of her purse until she saw that an elderly old queen was going to use some as well.
She had tickets to see something on the weekend with her boyfriend once he was free, but she didn't have plans for the Friday. (This was a Gatsby Thursday matinee.) She had never seen Hadestown so I advised her to rush that the next morning. I don't know if she took my advice. I had maybe $100 cash in my pocket & almost handed it to her to help with her budget, but held back because I thought it might be too forward. Looking back now I wish I had just done it.
I think this will be my resolve for the new year: when I feel impelled to do something for someone, just go with it & don't hold back. They can always refuse.
