I thought he and the rest of the new cast was sensational. Sad he’s only doing it for a few weeks but I hope this dipping his foot back into live theater makes him want to do another show very soon.

One little Easter egg, he repeats a line that Terrence Mann used to say to a certain audience member each night during “Rocky Horror” as a little homage to where he started on Broadway and while everyone laughed, I let out the biggest “AWWWWWWW”. That was so awesome for him to remember and honor that production.

I agree. My response to the nay sayers is “I’d like to shadow you when you start a new job to see how you immediately fit in, :-).

Producers Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens and John Frost just announced that Screen Actors Guild Award winner and Tony Award, Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Matthew Morrison will make a limited three-week encore engagement as Bobby Darin in the record-breaking, award-winning smash hit musical Just in Time beginning Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Circle in the Square Theatre. Two-time Tony Award nominee Jeremy Jordan will play his final performance as Bobby Darin and Carrie St. Louis will play her final performance as Sandra Dee in Just in Time on Sunday, October 18. Just in Time is the only musical of the 2024-2025 season to have recouped its capitalization.

I was wondering why after Jeremy Jordan leaves, Morrison does not get the role for more than three weeks. He has proven he has done a good job in the show, and he is a known name. Is it Morrison who has other things going on with his career and does not want role longer or is it the show is looking for bigger star?

The show with Morrison lost money one week and didn’t make much more than break even the other two weeks he was there.

Mayber it was because he was a fill in and people who wanted to see the show wanted to see Jeremy Jordan more than him. If he was going to have the role for extended period, maybe the show would do better financially."

Not trying to be negative but he's essentially going to be a fill-in again between Jeremy and whoever takes over after Morrison's limited run. It may depend who the next "Bobby" is.

When I was planning my fall Broadway trip back in the summer, tickets were only being sold through mid-October. I'm assuming this was when Jeremy's contract ended. The fact they extended it until January suggests they have plans for a lead through then.

Any possibility Jeremy is coming back and they just don't want people waiting for him rather than seeing Morrison?

Nicholas Christopher is the new Bobby Darin after Morrison’s return, starting November 10.

The news was just broken by Elisabeth Vincentelli of the NYT.
