She always starts the Standing Ovation. Forget Matt Cavenaugh, the Standing O is for Karen and Josefina.

I'm sorry. At least you saw the better understudy.
Now that Karen is back, you can always try the lotto sometime. It's worth a return.

I would not tell people you have audio. That is illegal. Do some people still have no common sense?

Weird.
Karen did the matinee today, but is out tonight.
But look! Cody is back.

Let's not forget that actors are human, like everyone else. They get sick, don't feel, well, loose their voice, etc.
And, this is their job, and with that job comes benefits - medical/dental, sick days, vacation days, personal days, etc.

I see they're still going with the sub-par Yanira as Anita.

How do you know she's sub par?

Many people have said that Kat is a much better Anita than Yanira.

Dearest nealb1, how do I know that Yanira is subpar? Because I saw her perform the role of Anita. I commented on that either in this thread or another.
This is what I said in response to post on 6/24 in this thread:
"Is it just me, or does Yanira look too young to play Anita?"
That's the least of one's worries if Yanira goes on. Poor thing is mediocre at best.

Yes, Yanira was not good. She almost made Matt Cavenaugh look amazing. Okay, that was a bit of an exaggeration. But, they were what I disliked the most.

neal, I saw Yanira on June 9th and she was truly horrendous. I feel bad for the audience members who had to suffer through her performance tonight.

Shoot, I hope Karen isn't sick again. I'm seeing the show on Saturday and she's the main reason I'm going. I know it's silly to get upset if a performer is out, but I really want to see Karen. Hearing all these negative things about her understudy is making even more worried. I really hope she's in!

I assume they're not "going with" one over the other. Most likely, they're rotating them.

She felt her voice suffering a bit last night so they told her to take the night off and feel better rather than have her lose several performances over the weekend. Hopefully she does in fact feel better today.

Anyone find it a bit odd that the understudy for Chino is named Michael Rosen? Please correct me if I"m wrong or totally off base.
