So for the past decade it seems like Kristin Chenoweth will announce she's attached to a project and we hear about it over and over but never get much info and sometimes it seems they never see the light of day, so what I'm about to say still may give no clear answers but it's all something to discuss, and if anyone has any more information, please share.
While making the promotional rounds for Trial and Error, she has said she will be getting a revised script for the Tammy Faye Bakker show within a month. Based on other things that have been reported it seems that as long as this updated script works, this could be her next Broadway show. However, nothing is definite. I'm wondering if it could come in this season? Her concerts are scheduled up through next April, but are so sporadic that scheduling could be worked on.
She has also said Death Becomes Her doesn't have a script but it should be finished soon and that Gary Griffin is attached to direct.
In non-stage related news, they wanted her back for an episode of American Gods that would have filmed this week but she's been promoting Trial and Error so much she didn't have time. She says they are still trying to find a time to do it.
Most of this came from her Vulture interviewe but I'm on my phone so I didn't link it. What's everyone's take on this? Will Cheno finally play Tammy Faye soon?

I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up seeing a version of this sometime soon. She said on the Today Show that the Tammy Faye musical is by David Yazbek and Henry Krieger. With momentum behind Yazbek for currently having the Tony Award for Best Score, it would happen. Also, I believe Chenoweth has been pushing for this for years. The question is, would this succeed on Broadway, commercially?

I won't believe any of the "casting news" Chenoweth shares until tickets are on sale.

Plus, Yazbek is currently dealing with TOOTSIE’s upcoming pre-Broadway Chicago tryout. He ain’t got no time fo’ no Tammy Faye Bakker musical.

seriously. her career has been filled with this annoying “i’m gonna be in _____ eventually, wait and see!” it’s obnoxious. then again i think On the 20th was first mentioned in like 2011 or so and it took 4 years but it finally happened.
i just wish Netflix would do us a favor and revive Pushing Daisies, i loved that show and Kristin as Olive Snook.

Kristin would make a wonderful Molly Brown. She's petite and feisty.

I wish Cheno would do something that would garner her a Best Actress Tony win. I thought On the Twentieth Century would be it, but the Kelli O'Hara narrative and her luminous performance in the extremely well-received King and I revival was too much to overtake. Obviously none of us has heard the music of the Tammy Faye Baker musical nor do we know how it'll be dramatized, but it just doesn't seem like the best material but David Yazbek and Henry Krieger are doing the music so it may be amazing.

If you're a big Cheno fan, as I am, watch her on this season of Trial & Error. She's chewing the scenery like mad. A really great comedic performance.

I saw the trailer and it looks amazing! I wonder if she has a chance at a second Emmy, or at least another nomination. The Emmys are super competitive these days as there are like a thousand TV shows eligible for these awards.
