Didn't see a thread for this yet. I expect nothing but raves for Audra but who knows.
I only found the preview thread for this show and it's lots of pages - so will be nice to have a fresh thread!

I just got a ticket for my trip next month - man, seats are scarce! Also got one for Hedwig.
This is about to become a HOT ticket. So happy for Audra, here's to Tony #6!
Definitely glad I snagged a seat already! WOW! Go Audra. Do we know officially if it's being called a play or a musical yet? From what I've read it seems more like a play with music, but I don't pretend to be an expert.

Just looking at the photographs of Billie Holiday in the period of the play show the challenge that a clean liver and radiant beauty like Audra McDonald would have in depicting her. McDonald meets that challenge successfully — but a question remains: Why?
Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill Review: Audra McDonald as Billie Holiday
"McDonald channeling Holiday gives us not just one but two of the most extraordinarily gifted dramatic vocalists America has produced." McNulty, LA Times
This MUST extend, right? We don't arrive until June 18 and I can't imagine missing this!
I too just snatched up a ticket for Wednesday. With the love letters that continue to pour in, this will be an impossible ticket.
Yeah, the ticket I was able to get was not fantastic, a bit off to the side but they are few and far between for when I am in the city.
I hope if sales pick up after these reviews, Audra opts to have the show extended a few weeks.

"Though most of the audience sits in Circle In The Square's horseshoe-shaped arena seating, "festive dress" is encouraged for those enjoying complimentary beverage service at the twenty nightclub tables up front".
I bought a ticket to this within the first hour of them going on sale, so I was lucky enough to score a table seat. However, I have no idea what "festive dress" entails.
Anyway, these reviews are amazing, I can't wait to see this.

You can never go wrong with a nice little black dress...
WOW! Well, it looks like we all know what the Best Play/Musical and who the Best Leading Actress in a Play/Musical are going to be. Congrats to Audra, the cast and the crew!

"WOW! Well, it looks like we all know what the Best Play/Musical and who the Best Leading Actress in a Play/Musical are going to be. Congrats to Andrea, the cast and the crew!"
Lady Day is being billed as a 'PLAY with MUSIC', NOT A MUSICAL, so therefore AUDRA will most likely be up for LEADING ACTRESS IN A PLAY, where she could just become the Most Honored Broadway Performer in History by not only winning six Tonys, but for winning in every single category an actress can be up for.
The show will definitely be extended.
All ready to go.

Ummmmm....wasn't there a debate if it was a play or a musical? I have no idea what I did wrong...
Well, for starters, her name might be where you'd begin...
