I just got an e-mail from BroadwayLA, saying that you can buy one ticket, and get TWO free! WTF? It sounds like they're desperate to fill in the seats...
oh, and if you wanted to know, the Promotional code is: FREE

I saw the show last Sunday afternoon at the Kennedy Center and I got a discount ticket at DC's version of TKTS. The Opera House seemed fairly full to me. Although the performances were very good, I found the show to be quite dull.

I am thinking of going here in LA. I've been very surprised though.
I was thinking of going to that random Thursday matinee at 2:00 because I am off from work that day. That show doesn't show up on any list that I check.
I just assumed that a Thursday matinee would be the type of show that they'd be practically giving away tickets to if a tour was struggling.
i saw it on broadway and i feel sutton foster made that show what it was. i've heard very mixed things about the tour. maureen mcgovern does a nice job, though
I love the Music, but the story is quite boring. I'm sure Sutton Foster made it enjoyable, the the Jo I saw (which was this tour) is only okay. I say, if you love the original broadway cast recording, go see it, because the musical numbers are quite enjoyable, or go see it if it is cheap. :O) the book is so poor (book of the musical not actual book) that it needs SPECTACULAR actors to make it enjoyable, which, besides Maureen, the tour does not really have. they are just "pretty good." yeah, i've seen clips of the current jo on tour and was VERY bummed out because i know they could have found someone else fantastic even if it wasn't sutton foster.
the music is nice, it's a sweet show. i'm sure you'll enjoy it if you see it, but you won't be OMG THIS WAS THE BEST SHOW EVER.
So if I find a "pretty good" ticket deal, I'll go expecting a "pretty good" show.
...Oh, and LuPonatic, you might want to revise that "soundtrack" verbage to "cast recording" before you're drawn and quartered, never to be heard of again.
EDIT: Why couldn't they find a good (enough) "Jo?" There are thousands of out of work ladies who would kill for that part (no?).

By the way, you don't actually have to buy three--the price of the tickets are 21.75 (a third of the price--hence the buy one and get two free) no matter how many you buy. I search for a single ticket and it was $21.75. I searched for two tickets and they were $21.75 each. I searched for 4 tickets and they were stil $21.75 each. So don't feel you need to buy three if all you need is one or two.
I saw it a few weeks ago at the Opera House. Although the show itself is a little dull, I think the performances from the cast were good. If you can get a discount, I would say go for it.

So it looks as if the Little Women tour is harming the bottom line for theaters the way the Thoroughly Modern Millie tour almost wiped out a few back in its less-than-stellar heyday.
The show seemed derivative to me-- a little "My Fair Lady" here and a little "Wicked" there, a little "Secret Garden" over here... It's not a bad show, it's just a show dealing with not the most exciting subject matter in not the most exciting way. But, the tour does have very good actor/singers, so that made it worth it for me.
I know I risk the rage of the Suttonites, but the way the role of Jo is written in the LW musical is not the most dimensional. I didn't see Sutton Foster and I'm sure she was excellent, but she's not the be-all, end-all. I saw the tour with Kate Fisher and with Susan Spencer, and I thought they both did the role justice. Flying around passionately about everything all the time has to get tiring after a few shows.
