He CAN hit that note.
Find my posts. I didn't hate the production. I don't have to explain myself to ANY of you. If you want the proof, go find my damn posts.
I wasn't referring to you, sorry. I was referring to adamgreer, whose detestation of the production is well-documented.
"Well-documented"? You keep track?
Why is my opinion so important to you, anyway?

To me, this recording puts into perspective Hodge's voice. It has its moments and it seems mostly inconsistent. He may do some great work on a recording but that doesn't mean he can do it 8 shows a week. And I think this recording is a great way to recapture the experience of seeing it, since it's so complete, whereas many are not so much like that. I went into the show thinking I'd not like it that much (after previously plain disliking it) and ended up loving it- mostly due to Grammer and Hodge.

Because why would you bother listening to a CR of a production & performances that you hate?
Because you enjoy trashing shows that everyone already knows you opinions on.

It's not hard to when you have vitriolic posts about it. You may have only voiced your opinion only a few times, I don't remember. But they certainly made an impression- and it was certainly were more than once.
I just don't understand the logic of "I hated it but I will buy the recording, which I doubt I will like because I hated the production and especially the leading actor." So you can reinforce your hatred of it? Why not just move on and wash your hands of a production you disliked?
I don't care that you didn't like the production, it's your right not to like everything, and that's honestly not what I have an issue with here.

Not here, but his opinion on it is well known to me.
After seeing the show (I'm paraphrasing it was months ago):
AG: That was bad
Someone: Better or worse than the 2005 revival?
AG: Much worse.

He doesn't hit that note in the show...at least not any time I've seen it. I think it was just a heat of the moment kind of thing.
What the hell man?! I thought they weren't even gonna start shipping them till tomorrow?!?!?! I haven't recieved any email, and i don't think they even charged my card yet. Dying man..just dying.

Thank you for taking a conversation I had with someone off of the board and re-posting it here.
At least I saw the show in question and formed my own opinion, theatrefan4.
The new end note to "I Am What I Am" is very unneeded to me, and just sounds out of place.
That said, highlights include "With You on My Arm", "A Little More Mascara", "I Am What I Am" and "The Best of Times". The dialogue is also very effective for a full listening experience.
The "Look Over There (Reprise)" is also very effective.

That didn't stop you from doing it to Val (as much as I dislike her) & I'm seeing it next month actually.

I haven't seen the production, and I've only listened through Song on the Sand - but I find Hodge annoying as hell on the recording. Maybe you need to see him to appreciate it (and I haven't gotten to I Am What I Am yet) but so far not a fan...
but I find Hodge annoying as hell on the recording.
Well I thought he was pretty annoying live too. I had a pleasant enough time at the revival, but I think Hodge's performance has got to be the most overrated performance I've seen on Broadway.
Well folks
I started this thread because i wanted to see how long it might take for me to get this cd. I presume it was mailed form NYC and I currently live in North NJ. I got my BBAJ the next day. I still wait for the whole real cd and watch you guys argue over "the note" and all the other stuff that has gone on in this thread....
Well I am getting tired of the BBAJ music by now....I am gonna turn into the BBDF

I got a shipment notice late last week but I still haven't gotten it yet and I'm in NYC

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't gotten his CD yet. I got an email Sunday. I'm in Queens. BBAJ got here the next day, so what's up with that?
I so want a recording of this, so badly!!!

I only received my email today. I live in NYC, so I'm curious to see how long it takes. If I recall, it took a while for my Night Music cast recording to arrive.
I love it. So much more entertaining than A LITTLE SNOOZE MUSIC.
Got my email Friday and received mine Wednesday. That's pretty standard for NY to VA.
Can't wait to receive mine. Got the email Friday, but as I live in Florida, no CD yet.
Mine came today! Excited to listen to it.
