Great casting indeed! And one of my favorite musicals of all time, no less. I love the thought of Osnes as Polly. And Yazbeck as Bobby? He's already my favorite crush, and singing Gershwin....I might end up more in love with him than I already am. Lol.

What a "s'wonderful" pairing! But, can someone explain to me the controversy with this company's productions? I think it had something to do with the union?

This is a big screw-ball dancical comedy, I honestly don't understand why they are doing a concert version, except to test the waters for a revival. The show's score is a made up of American Songbook standards, and what made the show work so well was the perfect timing of the shows physical comedy with Stroman's breathtaking choreography. 

I would love to see a revival, but a concert....not so much. I will stick with my PBS filming of the Original production on VHS.

The PBS Broadcast was a filmed version of the  Papermill production (with the original staging and choreography), I believe.

The supporting cast has gotten me 1000x more excited for this then Osnes and Yazbeck. Osnes is playing majorly againsy type as Polly. 

I really hope this turns into a full fledged revival.

Polly is a dame in the same vein as a younger Reno Sweeney, Laura is a lady......yes she played Bonnie,  but most if not all if the parts she has played have a delicacy to them that Polly does not have.

Stephanie J Block, Sutton Foster, and Leslie Maragrita are actesses I would put into that Catagory, but have aged out of the part. I would say i think Kara Lindsay or Patina Miller would make good Pollys.

While Tony is perfectly cast, I was hoping for Carmen Cusack as Polly as after her work in Bright Star, she has the perfect amount of southern twang and gritty-ness in her voice needed for the role. Additionally, I know she has said previously she is a tapper. Though, I'm sure Laura will be fine, and will give her another chance to show more versatility as I don't think she has ever done such a dance heavy role like this before.

Would love to see Carmen as Polly too.  Maybe if it becomes a revival.  Let's hope!!  It's time!!  

And Tony and Carmen?  Wow.  After seeing that clip from rehearsals, it's only confirmed even more....is Tony like the hottest thing on legs, or what?  Dude is seriously hot.

As for the actress playing Irene....from that clip....she's definitely no Michele Pawk.  That would be the recast if it moves on to a full blown Broadway revival.  And the guy playing opposite her too.

Rachel Bloom is the actress playing Irene and is the biggest name in this concert. *If* this concert were to be used for a revival, and *if* she wanted to continue, they wouldn't recast her.

Yeah, when I think of a bold and brassy dame, the first name that comes to mind is Jodi Benson.

Suggesting a role would need to be recast based on a two-minute rehearsal clip is patently ridiculous. In addition to being well-known as a Golden Globe winning television actress, Bloom is a trained-musical theater performer with a degree from NYU.

I really wish I was able to see this. I rank Stroman's work on Crazy for You as some of her best choreography that she has ever done, and it's great to see they are going all out with the full choreography for this event.

Rachel Bloom is honestly the only reason I'd go to see this- she is an absolute star. Fortunately she's busy with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend for at least the next year, but someone should really write her a tour-de-force role in a new musical.

If (meaning when) Rachel Bloom makes her Broadway debut, I will drop absolutely everything and go see her. Multiple times.
