Very nice NBC. I almost forgot this whole thing was Live by the end of it.
Looking forward to becoming an annual tradition!

Love the credits - showing rehearsals and then the final version side by side. Good job NBC.Not perfect but live theater - so worth doing. Let's do this again next year.

Yeah, this wasn't bad at all. I hope they rely more on Broadway stars than Hollywood stars next time

That was magical, and I am so glad others think so too. I would love for this to be a yearly tradition!

And it looks like it was timed perfectly! Ended at precisely 11pm.
A remarkable achievement that I enjoyed immensely even with it's flaws.
Thank you everyone involved with this broadcast!
(Can you imagine the cast and crew celebration that must be happening on that sound stage right now?!?!?)

They won't focus more on Broadway performers than on stars- this isn't Broadway. Nor is it a commercial for Broadway for Broadway's benefit. It's a major "All-Star" TV production.
HOWEVER, NBC has been good to Broadway performers in the past, making them parts of their programming over and over, no matter how badly the shows bomb.

Overall, I have to say that this was a very entertaining telecast. While it was not perfect, it was very well-done. It's too early to say whether this will be something I will watch time and time again, but I do plan on seeing it again soon.

That finale always gets me, and it was beautifully done.

NBC got it right!!! SOUP TO NUTS this is what "that" should be. This is how they get the numbers they did back in the day. This entire production is something we can talk about.
That was THRILLING theatre. Probably the bravest thing done on TV outside of sports in decades.

I hope this was a ratings smash! NBC clearly has a great relationship with Broadway performers and puts them to work. They clearly like Benanti and Borle.

I just love how people were bashing it on Twitter at first, and are now saying it was terrific.
Overall for me, it was a fantastic program. I can't believe they pulled it off! We want another one next year NBC!

A Midler Dolly next year would be fantastic!

I'd like to see She Loves Me done this way as a holiday broadcast. It may not have the same sort of name recognition, but I think it's a better show, with a holiday theme in there and some very strong lead roles (including an incredibly singable male lead role), in addition to smaller parts that could attract the kind of supporting talent we saw tonight.

A fine presentation of a wonderful show.
Thank you, NBC.
And thank you, eternally, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein, Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. You bequeathed us magic.

Thank you, NBC, from the bottom of my heart. This was a thrilling three hours of TV. I loved it, and I hope it is a ratings smash hit. I am so happy right now.

Had high hopes for this, but it really felt like community theater with a big budget.
I was so rooting for Carrie Underwood, but she simply can't act - cmon, you all must see that. And the overall direction is terrible - way too overplayed. The children are so saccharine it feels like I'm watching Barney the dinosaur.
And I really, really, wanted this to be good - I literally ran home to see it! So sad.

I APPLAUD NBC FOR TAKING A LEAP OF FAITH AND PRODUCING THIS BROADCAST.
I APPLAUD CARRIE UNDERWOOD FOR CHALLENGING HERSELF AND PUSHING HER OWN LIMITS AS AN UNTRAINED ACTRESS AND VOCALIST.
I APPLAUD THE DESIGNERS WHO CLEARLY PUT ON THEIR BEST CREATIVE HATS TO DESIGN A BEAUTIFUL WORLD.
AND, FINALLY, I APPLAUD ALL OF THOSE ON THIS BOARD WHO APPRECIATE THAT IN SPITE OF ANY FLAWS...THIS BROADCAST SHOWCASE THE ART OF MUSICAL THEATRE AND BROUGHT IT TO A MUCH WIDER AUDIENCE ON A NATIONAL PLATFORM.
That is all. Thanks for indulging.

Great night!
Musical theatre on a network television.
That's a win.

I think a Laura Benanti Mame would be great. Mame wasn't as old as she's been played.
