If you were going to be in London for a few days over the holidays, what would you see? 

Fairview for sure since I missed it - but what else?

No reason to see Tina in London. See it in NYC as Adrienne Warren IS the show. 

I like Six over there as you get the accents and its a really small theater. Not a bad seat. 

I'm checking out Soho Cinders at Charring cross as I've really fallen in love with the score! Also looking forward to The Boy Friend at Menier which will be my first time seeing something there. Ian Mckellen's show is one that I plan on seeing as well. 

The reviews weren't great, but I'm hoping to catch Stephen Mangan in The Man in the White Suit.

I read that you *must* see a panto, at least once in your life.  I have no recommendations as to what's on in London at the time.  Oh, and I have not seen a panto...yet.

Besides FARVIEW, got tickets for TEENAGE DICK, CYRANO DE BERGERAC, THE BOYFRIEND, MY BRILLIANT FRIEND and SIX - leaving three slots open (gotta love the matinee schedules that can make the most of my time there) Prob going for SIX, NOISES OFF and TINA

Imeldasturn - first of all, awesome name.  I am seeing it all in ONE day.  I haven't read the books so I am really going in cold and in fact I am sort of nervous about it.  Really looking forward to your thoughts

Oh damn on that ceiling collapse at DEATH OF A SALESMAN.  Doesn't sound like anyone was hurt so thats great news - I hope all the folks that work for the theatre and for the production are paid while they repair the theatre

Also, with these reviews - sounds like a must see

I saw it at the Young Vic and wasn’t impressed. It was the least favourite of the 5 or 6 Miller productions I’ve seen in the last few years. The performances were very good but there were some very oddly directed moments and the play itself just didn’t click with me at all. It probably didn’t help that I’d seen the amazing All My Sons just a few days before.

Id say if you are a fan of the play itself and know what you’re getting yourself into go see it, if you’re not I wouldn’t bother there are much better choices going on around town.

Dave Malloy's Ghost Quartet is playing in a new theatre which is great, plus it is not selling at all so you could get the 12 pound roulette tickets and be guaranteed a great seat.

Someone else mentioned &Juliet. I don't go for a few weeks, but it is getting absolute RAVES on the UK theatre board forum. Timeout has a good deal on atm, don't know if its when you're there but check it out in case.

Definitely catch Six in London, personally I think the accents add more to the show than people here seem to think. Go for the stalls, for me the circle takes you too much out of the action.

I think Touching the Void looks interesting, the film is amazing and it'll be interesting to see how they take it to the stage.

Of course in saying there was so many more amazing things to see, half of my recommendations closed in the last fortnight lol

Glad I read your post. I pulled up SOHO CINDERS and have been listening to it this afternoon. Really nice score and would love to see this show.

Any good options for Sundays? Unlike here, Sundays there are the dark day of the week instead of Monday so there doesn't seem like too many options.

Saw Soho Cinders yesterday afternoon - brilliant production, and one of the best scores around. Definitely one to see.

Also caught &Juliet on Weds, it’s such a great show, big production values and lots of fun.

Actually just finished listening to Soho Cinders and am in love with it!! If I could I would hop a plane tomorrow to see it! I was misty eyed at the end just listening to it!

Saw ‘&Juliet’ last night and it was the most fun I’ve had at a show in a long time - I’d highly recommend it. Came out with a huge smile on my face. It’s only just started London previews but I can see it becoming a huge word of mouth hit.

Boyfriend (is wonderful!) over Noises Off (how to do farce, badly)every time.
