sabrelady that is inspired casting--should have thought of that myself. Ms Saunders would scare the s..t out of those horrible children.

Interesting that Netflix are getting involved.

After watching Okja the other day, one of my thoughts was that Jake Gyllenhaal could be a good Wormwood.

So this looks like it will be going the way of "The Irishman" and be a streaming release in the US rather than a theatrical release.

Why is “the Irishman” the example you come up with?

Because "The Irishman", for the majority of us, is only available for viewing as a streaming release on Netflix ... only playing in a handful of actual theaters to qualify for awards consideration.

It’s great when studios like Netflix get involved with projects as it means less meddling and more creative freedom.

Emma Stone and Ralph Fiennes are in talks for Honey and Trunchbull. Barely know Ralph, but Emma would be great if she's a soprano.

I wouldn’t be mad at this casting.

Well to be fair, he hasn’t played the part in nearly a decade now.

What happened to Emma Stone playing Miss Honey?
Posted: 1/5/21 at 7:50pm
She's like 6 months pregnant right now.
Great casting! I hope this happens but like the Wicked movie, Im not holding my breath.

I like Emma Stone a lot, but Lynch strikes me as a better fit for the role.
Also, doesn't sound like Ralph Fiennes is confirmed. That rumor seems to have been reported at the same time as Emma Stone, and we already know that part of the rumor is outdated.
Glad Netflix is handling this! I have some doubt about how well this will translate to film, but I love the musical so much, I can't help but be somewhat excited.

I’m sure Emma Stone would have loved to play Miss Honey but she is incredibly pregnant right now.

Oh, Jodie would be a BLAST!

Maybe Mara Wilson can play Mrs. Wormwood

Didn’t she quit from acting, plus can she sing?
if Matthew warchus does a good job adapting this to film, I think he should get a shot at adapting his lord of the rings to film.
