Releases March 14 on digital platforms! Music by Will Aronson, lyrics by Hue Park
First listen of Darren Criss (Oliver) and Helen J Shen (Claire) performing "The Rainy Day We Met":
Album available for pre-save and single released!
Track listing:
It looks like they recorded a lot of underscored musical sequences, which is really nice.
“The Rainy Day We Met” is an interesting choice to use as the pre-release single, but it is a meet-cute of sorts and shows off the two performers’ charms and also the exquisite orchestrations, which don’t get mentioned enough.
Looking forward to the full album!

What is the significance of this song in the context of this show? I thought the 2020 Original Korean Cast Recording had catchier more memorable songs…
Two robots are going to the human world incognito and discuss what their backstory is if asked.
CD and vinyl releases are also in the works; vinyl for this show is a particularly nice touch.

Criss is out March 22-28th.
Stand-by Steven Huynh is Oliver 22-27th.
Christopher James Tamayo is Oliver 28th (both shows).
Huynh is a stronger vocalist/actor than Criss so it's a great week to see it.

Is there a full Original Cast Recording available? All I can find are the 2 EP's that don't include all of the music from the show. From those two, "First Time in Love"and "Never The Less" are not included in the Broadway production. (Unless they have been re-titled or incorporated into other songs) And just looking at the musical numbers list of the two productions, other songs were also cut.
I am looking forward to the OBCR release tomorrow as I am really enjoying the 2 Korean Cast EP's.
It’s a glorious album.
Now available for streaming. Happy listening, everybody!
Listened to this on a nice, leisurely, late night long walk home with my earbuds in. It is a really nice recording, however, knowing the story and the setting, I found that I prefer the Korean EP's more and would love to have a recording of the entire Korean production. Just my opinion and preference.
The quality is much higher than the demo tracks they had recorded!
Listened to the whole thing on my morning commute (UK-based) and find it absolutely delightful. I only have a rough idea of the plot, but I found "Where You Belong" very sweet and "Hitting the Road" is a bop
I’m so glad many instrumental sequences were included. This album is just lovely. It gives the show a really strong case for this to be the frontrunner for the score and orchestrations Tonys.
Well, it’s just as magical as it sounds at the Belasco.
I’ve been aware of MAYBE HAPPY ENDING for some time now, and I’m so glad it has more than earned its place on Broadway. The voices are top-notch (especially Duron), and those orchestrations — chef’s kiss. I hope this album entices more people to see it, either in New York or some future iteration.
Between the honest, jazzy, string-heavy, and raw hope and heartbreak heard here and the pulsating, #relatable pop of WHY AM I SO SINGLE?, it’s been a damn good day for new musical theatre scores.
2-disc vinyl LP release is set for June 13, but it will be available starting May 12 at the Belasco.
The instrumental tracks are beautiful. I’ve been listening to them on their own on repeat.
Fun fact: Helen just revealed on her Broadway.com vlog that Michael Arden and Nikki M. James voice the AI assistants / voiceovers in “World Within My Room.”
Listened to this with my noise cancelling headphones on a flight earlier and it is stunning. Perfect amount of dialogue and the instrumentals I couldn't wait to hear again.
