Continuing to just say they must be cast Asian seems like missing the entire point of the show. And missing the point of the creators and writers who clearly stated that this role is for all ethnicities. And of course you can never use “humanity” as an excuse for racism.

I guarantee that this person doesn't spend nearly this much time - or any time at all - worrying about the fact that white men have always been significantly overrepresented in Congress in relation to their share of US population. For every election since 1788.
Of course, they also have not provided any evidence supporting their claim about white people being "disadvantaged" on Broadway, either. Posting links to a subset of current shows can't possibly support that claim; that would require the careful compilation and analysis of demographic data from all shows over an extended period of time.

And theres a reason the group that actually does do that work is on a few year delay. Its complicated and isn't just looking at a name or guessing by a shade of a head shot.

And this is the core of the problem. Doing the exact same thing in revenge that you think has been done to you. And supporting that. Resulting in completely skewed cast lists over the last 5 years. Was it fun so far? Still feel the need to kick the only white person out in a 90% non-white cast? Can the current minority take revenge in 10 years again? For how long are you planning to cheer for this racism? When are you ready for equality? MHE is on the right path.
Especially because they presented it as all ethnicities from the start. That's all there is to it.

It's funny how someone can miss my point and prove it at the same time.

"Doing the exact same thing in revenge ...."
There is no way to have a rational discussion with someone who makes this assertion.
Trying to create equitable opportunities, particularly for historically underrepresented populations, has nothing to do with revenge.

"Equitable"? There is no way to have a rational discussion with someone who makes this assertion.
The fact is: This is yet another show with 90% work opportunities for poc and less than 10% work opportunities for white people. You celebrate it. I ask what the purpose is. The end goal. Because it’s one of the following 2 things: Even less white people in Broadway shows than there are today (a view that seems to be completely accepted and desired), or less poc in Broadway shows than there are today. This last option is the only way to bring back equality. We can’t continue with how it is today. The malignant desire to 100% erase work opportunities for 1 certain race in shows, until the last white person is gone, even if it is the only and last white person in a neutral role in a 90% poc cast, combined with the fact that people openly support this is “accepted”, is no longer acceptable.

The funniest thing is that you have exposed yourself. You literally admit that harm that has been done in the past/other places is a reason to justify this because you use it as an actual argument. You can never use that as an argument for doing the same thing in return, in whatever business.
And especially not regarding this show, where the creators have made very clear that it is all ethnicities.

I'm afraid you're still tied for first place in that contest, sweetie.
Whatever will you do when this topic eventually dies down in a week or two? Maybe you and SR could tour in LEGENDS?

I'm on the right side of history "Sweetie" (how cute you keep pushing this phrase). You seem stuck in your old conservative ways so you'll fit right in with the idiot brigade.

Thanks for continuing to help prove my point. You’ve literally posted hundreds of times in this thread (and ONLY this thread) saying the exact same things over and over and over. It’s almost like you’re one those “burner accounts” for America’s Sweetheart!

What are your views JSquared? Since you're so critical of my postings, you have yet to say a ****ing word so go for it. The floor is yours. Oh what's that? You don't want to? Exactly what I thought.

I wish I could be in NYC to see both ABF and Darren Criss (again). It’s a great show! Hope it has a healthy run in my favorite Broadway theatre.

Here's a tip: Try to stop swearing and instead try to react with content-related replies sometime.
Which of the facts that I mention are difficult for you to understand?
Whoever accepts the current situation on Broadway is on the wrong side of history. The MHE team is starting to get on the right side of history. Have a great sunday. Enjoy the weather instead of bashing the production team for not being racist enough.

I don't need your advice on anything. Instead of directly countering one of my many points, you instead go ad hominem as always.
Everyone sees what you do. You have no real views or spine to fall back on. You talk just for controversy and spurring blame to others.
Go ahead. Try me.

I was charmed by the interview ABF did with Mickey Jo on YouTube. Check it out if you haven't already. Mickey said Andrew has a voice like a Disney prince which I think would work for Oliver.

I saw ABFs show “Park Maps” at 54 Below a few years back and would agree - he’s incredibly talented and he’ll sound great.

But you DON’T make any points, and YOU are currently tied in first place with Matt Rogers for ad hominem use. You certainly have no understanding of the meaning of the term if you think SEB “always” goes there.

Gurlll, you are working right out of the Repug playbook -- keep accusing others of doing exactly what you yourself are doing. Hiding in plain sight. I worry about how you'll occupy your time after ABF's NINE WEEK RUN are over?

Uhh, I would maybe refrain from casting aspersions on others given your track record. I made all of two posts on this topic, which were pretty tame, all things considered, and you responded by calling me a "Moron", "Clueless", "Lacking in human decency", "Ignorant", "****ing dumb", and "So naive it's beyond comprehension". Might want to do some reflecting on that one.
Anyway. I wonder if Helen really is leaving when Andrew does. Holding out hope that Jenna Ushkowitz will be the replacement, so we can have Darren, Lea, Jenna, Jon Groff, Kristin Chenoweth, and Kevin McHale all on Broadway (or in Kevin's case, off-Broadway) at the same time!

I don’t understand why this current issue with MAYBE HAPPY ENDING is being discussed in a string called MAYBE HAPPY ENDING Reviews. It deserves its own thread as we’ve all seen and read the reviews by now. I think this all stems from some people bitchily *redirecting* posters to threads that have nothing to do with the issue they’re trying to bring attention to…the only common denominator is the title of the show.
Earlier this week I posted a Deadline article about Trump hinting about renaming The Kennedy Center in his honor. Instead of creating a separate thread, I just climbed aboard the initial thread on the topic which was already hundreds of posts long. Absolutely nobody commented on it…it was just one more post in an already 20 page string. My bad for not creating a new thread.
While I’m at it…is it SO hard to actually type out the full name(s) of the show(s) you’re addressing in your posts? Years from now, when they talk about these boards…and they will… readers will have no idea what’s being discussed when all they see are two or more capitalized letters to indicate what play or musical is being discussed/addressed.
Sorry for the rant…

Speaking of former “Dawns”, I could see them approaching Kimiko Glenn about Claire. Seems right up her alley.
