Hope this means that it will transfer to the US. Hopefully with Zizi Strallen and Charlie Stemp.

Stemp might be busy. He's doing CRAZY FOR YOU in Chichester this summer. It's the production Susan Stroman has been trying to get off the ground for a few years now, so a West End transfer seems likely, though Broadway is the goal.

I don't think we will see another production of Mary Poppins on Broadway again for a very long time.

Hopefully the show does transfer to NY with Charlie. Right now I'm going through Stemp starvation.

Yes. It would be a "Stemp in Time"

Seeing Stemp in a couple weeks in “Crazy For You” and I’m very excited. As for “Mary Poppins”, while this production is superior to the original production i. Every way, I don’t know if there’s a demand for it to return now. As for Zizi, she’ll have been with the show for four years when it closes next year so I’m sure she’s more than ready to move on.

It all likely depends what Disney has lined up first. I still think Hercules will be next then a Beauty and the Beast revival.

I think Beauty and the Beast would be more likely to transfer over Mary Poppins. Tom Schumacher had mentioned a revival before the pandemic hit. Though I wouldn't mind seeing something like Mary Poppins find a home Off Broadway.

This Mary poppins relaunch seemed like it was all Cam Macs doing with Disney going along for the ride…
If Cam Mac is willing to front the bill for a Broadway transfer I’m sure it will happen, but I don’t see it happening.
At the west end live performance, Mary Poppins performed on their own when all the other Disney shows were in the same segment. Thought it was strange.

Correct me if wrong but IIRC there's a weird deal with Disney and CamMack wherein he has something like 51% control in London, and Disney has 51% control on Broadway.
Disney has a lot of shows in the hopper right now. Revivals of AIDA and BEAUTY plus the new productions of HERCULES and PRINCESS BRIDE. Perhaps other things too. After the somewhat disastrous response to FROZEN, I don't see them rushing another show to Broadway until Aladdin closes (Princess Bride and Aida being possible exceptions, especially the latter since it doesn't have the Disney brand as intrinsically attached).

Isn’t “Aida” still doing a European tour prior to a West End transfer then possibly followed by Broadway?

Is Bedknobs and Broomsticks still planning to transfer to the West End? I think the tour is finished.

THE PRINCESS BRIDE ain’t a Disney property.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Princess Bride is a 20th Century Fox film; Disney owns all of their assets. Thomas Schumacher has even mentioned the musical adaptation as being one of theirs.

Based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the original Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins features original music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman with new songs and additional music by the Olivier-winning George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. Julian Fellowes wrote the book for the musical. Co-directed by Richard Eye and Matthew Bourne, the latter also co-choreographing, the production has orchestrations by William David Brohn with dance and vocal arrangements by George Stiles, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, lighting by Hugh Vanstone and Natasha Katz, and co-choreography by Stephen Mear. The reimagined set and costume designs are by Bob Crowley. In preparation for its return, producers will follow the U.K. Government’s latest directives for COVID-19 healthy and safety.

Correct. David Yazbeck is attached to compose the music.

Mary Poppins seems to have a pretty good life in regional theaters already across N. America, so I don't see it being brought back to Broadway.
For example, this summer through to October it is playing in rep with Joseph at the Tuacahn in Utah 2 hours from Las Vegas. It's a popular stop for people visiting Zion National Park & Bryce Canyon. I'll probably go up & see one of their shows when I'm down for a week to see Katy Perry at Resort World later in the year. I'm leaning more towards Joseph though just based on the dates I was able to get lodging at Bryce Canyon.

Posted: 7/4/22 at 9:04amAm anxious to hear reports out of Chichester on this “Crazy For You.” After years of a revival being rumored, it would be lovely to see a big, beautiful production of this joyous show take flight. And even better if it crosses the pond with Stemp. I thought the oft-rumored revival with Yazbek would be terrific, but Stemp…”chef’s kiss.” Inaugural show for the renovated Palace anyone?(Just putting it out there into the universe…)

It seems this production has been stuck in Development Hell since COVID hit, which is a real shame - I would love to hear Vizzini do one of Yazbeck's signature Patter Songs...
